  • Did you pay for copilot yourself or did your job provide you with a license?

The enterprise tier of copilot is supposed to have access to such data, though it can be managed trough internal policies.

Ask it to summarize your latests emails In outlook/teams messages. If it has access to those (and this is intended) then its near certainty also setup to know who is who in the organization.

Allegedly, the data is “safe” because enterprises is supposedly not harvested and used for training… which makes me conclude non enterprise use absolutely is.

Allegedly because thats what Microsoft claims and on paper it looks legal. But these tech companies never seem to actually follow the law to such a degree that any claims that unmistakably seem to fit within the legal framework automatically are sus to me.

  • This is rage bait.

There are many upsetting things about the ai industry but digitising purchased material ain’t it.

If anything this is a boon for information archivism. Unless we ww ourself Into a new stone age this dataset could easily survive some of the books it contains.

  • Technically it can already talk using its own language.

To talk with human words requires a bump in intelligence which would end up in severe depression once it realises the dynamics of ifs existence.

As you didn’t wish for that intelligence you’re now stuck with a dog that barks with human vocal cords. Its first wish was made using body language for the genie to pet them. The second wish was to trow a stick.

  • Psa: the reason Microsoft makes these tools linux friendly is because the know thats where the developers are at and they want them to stay familiar with their tools.

It also lowers the amount of fuss developers make when work forced them to use powershell etc because at least they can remote control and script from linux.

  • As an autist, unironically no.

I dont want to clean all that. Neither would my family. I definitely dont want frequent other people as staff to clean it, disturbing our peace or rummaging though our stuff.

I could just sell it and stay living where i am but i have serious questions about this salay and where it comes from? I don’t need your capitalism blood money and i dont want to be used as some psychological example of “look at this winner, you can win too”.

I dont want to have media at my door to interview the person that was given uber wealth.

I dont want to be part of the billionaies that i believe should not exist.

The tuesday driving thing would technically not be an issue because i refuse to drive a car also.

  • The biggest question you need to ask yourself is can you imagine yourself being happy, being a parent? And for your partner, can she do the same with no kids.

I have also found many people can flipflop about having or not having kids. My best friend went from always wanting to never wanting during the same time my sister who never wanted anything to do with kids suddenly did and gaslights us into believing she always did.

What i mean to say is, you cannot really trust what people say on the matter. Biology can push buttons either way. Never blame people for perceivably having changed their mind about this.

    But on the adhd part:

I am part of a very neurodivergent family. The autism and ad(h)d is part of my inheritance. And my partner is on the spectrum too.

We have multiple kids. And while we both knew we wanted kids and i ideally loved to have a big family i was incredibly scared to expand further mostly because i did not want to lose what we manage to have at that point. Just being able to handle one was beyond my teenage expectations. Just like being able to handle another was beyond my expectation. Now if i was asked if i would make the same choice i would say of course i would. That they showed me to be able to handle beyond my own original expectations is my biggest achievement in life.

But Neurodivergent life is tough, remains tough, having a bad time in your life is tough. Being a parent on top of that is exponentially tough. Both parents having a tough time? Now you are in for a real bad time.

But is that not also true for life and all parents divergent or not? Every life choice you make will always be more than just roses.

Also, for many neurodivergent people its easier to take care of others then themselves (is this true for you?). When you and your partner organise around kids you may benefit from the same structure. For example my own food intake became more structured (and healthy) since.

Neurodivergence also comes with bonuses like thinking outside the box which can make some parenting challenges significantly easier.

There is a certain unpredictability and chaos in parenting which can be scary but is usually where adhd can really thrive.

There is no ultimately no “correct” way to parent either. Every parent i know is just trying what they believe is right for a specific kid and no one, not even children in the same household are raised identically to another.

With that said there are many guides and books for adhd parents specifically.

    So concluding.

I want you to know your adhd is not the limiting factor on whether you can or can not have kids.

What matters is where you and your partner would both have the best chance to find happiness, even if that involves one of you choosing for something personally less ideal and even if that does mean going separate ways.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • The message in detroid become human seems to be we would go full extermination out of fear of losing our spot on top of the foodchain. Which does seem plausible.

What i really didnt like though was how androids were designed to suffer

They had no ability to shut themselves off, if you kept abusing them they react and respond like real people. They where forced to stay sentient in their single body.

This is also why they had to experience standing in the back of the bus just for the narrative. Could have just send a drone. Could also just shut down the body while traveling and do something in cyberspace instead.

If there is one thing certain about digital “life” its that it wont have the same restrictions as us and a body is optional and basically a set of clothes.

While i did enjoy Detroid it was designed around its own pre set narrative rather then explore what could emerge organicaly if machines became sentient. I could not really take it serious because of that.

  • It appears like that is what it ha become but i used to interpret it as just quick and dirty programming for fun rather then trying to code well.

I found that while i love to code for creative fun i hate being a developer and being told what and how to code.

  • I bet this rhetoric goes so hard, the moment we reach an economicly usefull “agi” it will be all hands on board to stop it from going ASI.

They specifically want ai that can follow orders without thinking for themselves.

  • What a stat.

Sometimes i go 50 times further then other times.

It kinda depends on where i am going.

Some llms have a deepsearch feature where it goes trough 400+ webpages taking multiple minutes. But usually i just need it to rewrite part of an email.

  • You dont need to limit yourself to just one, feel free to diversify your presence.

But for a real answer: The smaller ones; The smaller the more respecfull they feel.

Though more users does demonstrate capabilities. Not every server is fast or stable.
