  • I thought CoPilot was just a rebagged ChatGPT anyway?

Hahaha. No. (Though your not Complety wrong)

Copilot relies on a few different llms and tries to pick the best one for the job cheapest microsoft thinks it can get away with.

I was given a paid copilot license for work and i used to have chatgpt pro before i moved to claude.

This “paid enterprise tier” is by far the dummest llm i have ever used. Worse then gpt 3.5

  • Tbf they don’t really claim that when you read the research, thats mostly media hype and ceo assholes spinning words.

Its good at lots specific tasks like rewriting emails and summarising gives text, short roleplay, boilerplate code. Some undiscovered uses.

Anthropic latest claims they would not hire their own ai because of how hard it failed at the test they give, They didnt do that expecting validation but to measure how far we are still off from ai doing meaningful full work.

  • Based on the headline this is not about blocking ai scrappers but by making them pay to do it.

Based on the discussion below which moved that goalpost the most likely answer is by making it cheaper to scrape “legally” then it costs to mimic millions of individual residential browsers with human users.

I don't know how many aces cloudflare has up its sleep to detect secret ai but they definitely have the tools to make it pretty costly and difficult. There is also a broadband impact difference between a few capitalist megapigs scrapping secretly versus loads of global basement dwellers and smaller companies scrapping worry free.

  • You would not believe the cosmic timing of how i find myself while reading this.

Id definitly label it sensory unpleasant but i would argue it cannot be compared.

The experience of both is one all humans will experience many times starting from childhood. Its a bad thing but its one you know, The experience is predictable and often the same as other times.

The experience of food is much more diverse and thus unpredictable. We all have experienced eating a “trusted” dish made somewhere else to find ourselves betrayed by “different brand”, “extra ingredient” or “chopped in unusual sizes”

Hyperbole aside (autistic adults may learn to get used to some of those suprises or mask their way trough), the exact sensory experiences are unique to each individual and many autistic people will chase certain stimulation as well as avoid it.

    Some i know are:

Walking barefoot, Roller coasters, Storm chasing, And for me, somewhat ironically, some forms of fine dining.

  • For one by being family and friends supporting those that do have official roles in society. Like a grandma tanking care for grandkids. Or a disabled men always being there to cheer people on at the local sport field.

In another by having freedom to do what they find valuable for their communities, like creating a shared community garden, helping to organize free local events.

And even if they do decide to just sit on the coach and do absolutely fuck all and wait for others to prepare their food, which is scientificaly known to not be what anyone wants to do and cause depression, they still aint doing as much evil and damaging as Bezos is right this moment.

Go watch some star trek, it will help you understand.

  • And the same goes for all the freeloading animals. They say there are species still left undiscovered in the rain forest, if that is true then surely the fact we dont know they exist means they are not contributing and don’t deserve those trees they live in that could provide real tangable profit. Getting rich by cutting them down that is real value /s

Seriously the notion you need to earn to live, especially in the context where that only means economic labor is toxic and the true negative.

I will remind you that “the economy” itself is increasingly negative towards society, destroying the future for a profit. And that people without jobs still provide plenty of positives if not, less negatives then “successfull” people like board directors and ceo

  • If your feed has lots of ai i would also recommend blocking some posters, though in my experience lemmy has way more anti ai and downvoting of annything ai then whatever is left of the mainstream networks.

Another recomendation is to join a smaller instance you align with, you will have a much better experience.

Yes we do go rather hard left. Especially when it comes to the only war that counts, the class war, ruling elites versus the exploited masses. Its part of what makes this place so refreshing because corporate media heavily dislikes the need for global change. Causing people that agree to flock here.

And yes you can easily get radicalized here, another thing which is refreshing is how up front and not secretive people are about the fact we do alot of self propaganda for our personal flavor of ideals. After all lemmy is not for children (suprisingly many older people) you have to form your own opinions and people tend to be (on average) more respectfull towards diversity in idealogy. You don’t get insta downvoted as much as you get honest replies of someone wanting to discuss it.

  • I am not really talking about being hacked but about anyone but you having more control over your system then you.

Maybe in your case thats very little information but I am a tech hobbyist and if i do not have full control and knowledge about every aspect of a device i bought, do i really own it?

If a consumer can’t fully own it, it shouldnt be sold as such. I considered such deeply unethical and damaging to the future potential of technology.
