You don't owe your parents anything until after age 18. They are legally required to take care of you until then.

Sometimes things refuse to stick. I cannot tell you how many times I've had some things described to me. It just won't go in.

And only in an informal context with work colleagues, never with anyone more than 1 step removed from you (meaning it might be ok with your supervisor if that's the kind of relationship you have, but never with your boss' boss).
