  • Because someone in the gamedev community once posted about using achievements to measure engagement with users, it caught on, and now there are actual achievements mixed in with standard progress, including just launching the game, apparently.

  • It seems pretty clear to me that they definitely intended to include breast jiggle physics at some level, and they decided that that was something that should be decided by the community. That would indicate to most casual readers that it's a priority for the devs. If they didn't realize that would strike a chord with both the pro-sexualization and anti-sexualization people, they weren't thinking at all.

This looks like a cutesy, cozy game that probably shouldn't even have jiggle physics. If they really wanted it in there, they should have just done it and said nothing. The "nasty people" they don't want to "attract" would have appreciated the jiggle, and everyone else would have just ignored it.

The devs brought it into the spotlight and it got talked about. I'm not surprised at that outcome at all.

  • My mother lost her shop because she was selling charms (on bracelets she made) that had copyrighted/trademarked designs that she bought from China. She didn't produce the actual infringing part, just partnered it with her own stuff. She still lost her shop after a few strikes.

I assure you that Etsy is serious about that, but it takes a few reports to actually shut the shop down. If nobody else is reporting them, it could take forever.

Go ahead and report them. If they're really bad about this, they'll lose their shop immediately. Otherwise, it's a very strong warning.

Edit: Also, if you really don't mind them printing it, but want credit, release it under an appropriate license that states that. Otherwise, you're only helping unethical people and preventing ethical people from doing it.

  • I use nearlyfreespeech.net. They bill for usage, and since my site gets almost no hits and doesn't take much storage, it's ridiculously cheap. Much cheaper than even he $2.50.mo VPS listed in another comment. I just checked, and I spend an average of $.30/mo.

  • It's not a huge discount, and you probably don't want the majority of those things. I'd just buy what you like, and ignore the rest.

So far as I know, points are only for cosmetics like this and adding more blocks to the Steam profile page, etc.

  • I expected to find he's been uploading hate speech or something, but no... Just models that were already in the game, but not normally playable? "Inappropriate content" is the wrong label for that, if that's why they banned him. And since they won't say why, the community practically has to assume that's it. What a mistake.

  • I think they're making a mistake comparing it to those 2 games. It seems to be entirely combat-focused, and the climbing aspect is pretty minimal in that video. The whole comparison to TOTK seems to be the graphical style and that it has combat.

  • I disagree about humans reading these... As someone who has to read resumes while hiring, I'd rather see this than the word-soup I often get. It gives me an idea of what you're best at, and I can figure out that you'd also be able to learn/do similar things.

  • It's at least as wrong as fantasizing about them if they aren't already romantically involved with you.

How wrong that is, is up for debate. It will definitely creep them out and they can never find out about it.

If it's just in your head, at least there's no physical way they could ever find out. You'd have to admit it. But if you have it on your hard drive, a hacker could get it and blackmail you with it, or just distribute it.

So my stance is that there's a non-zero chance of doing harm to them, and so it's wrong. I wouldn't do it. I also wouldn't create it with Photoshop, or by hand, for the same reason.

If you want to jerk off, do it to existing porn, or imaginary people porn. Don't create porn of real people without their permission, even if you think nobody will ever see it other than you. Accidents happen, and they don't deserve to bear the cost of that.

  • Covid made them improve the game considerably by making it easier for people who don't live in huge cities... But they decided to claw back all those changes and completely ignore all the people who left because of that.

Instead, they implement visual upgrades? Really?

    I'm constantly disappointed by them.

  • Any good game of the series would have "expanded the series to new, younger players". Every single good FF game has done that.

That said, I didn't like 16. I played for quite a while, but felt like I was just being led around by the nose and didn't enjoy the combat, which was basically the only thing in the game. Maybe it gets better later? I dunno.

  • Initially, I agreed with you. But then I realized: These authors don't ever want their work anywhere near an AI. Their work could then easily be used for things they don't agree with.

Of course, if they publish it at all, it'll still be available to be used like that against their wishes, but at least they didn't support that directly.

I think Angry Robot should have a checkbox (checked by default, even) that allows the author to opt out of the AI-based classification process. That'll mean their story needs more effort from Angry Robot to review, so it's less likely they'll make it in... But if they have a good story, that won't matter.

  • What are you using for a probe? I've guessing the first layer problem is something subtle to do with your probe. If it's a Tap, it's probably filament on the nozzle and you'll need to clean it before each print.
