  • There are many different "X" because people have different tastes in their choice of "X". I like KDE, the next guy likes Gnome. I like Apt, but I might like whatever NIXOS uses, others like Yum or DNF. I kinda like the idea behind GoboLinux, probably because I was a MAC OSx user for a long while.

  • Since they wish to maintain a cheat free environment, perhaps they should stand up a server only for Linux users where the anti-cheat is not required. This way they can serve the Linux community. Players who want to play under Linux will be informed that they play without the benefit of the anti-cheat?

  • How about Cloud (someone else's computers) vs. Colo/Data Center (someone else's cooling and UPS/Generators Your computers) - the cost of running a data center correctly is huge. This is not even counting the 24/7 availability of help or security on the site.

Of course, if you can get away with a 2 servers in a single rack more power to ya.

  • Anyone who is posting an ad for something but not paying the instance any ad-price is stealing advertising. Ads for salient things might be acceptable, like an ad for a text editor in a programming forum, but non-salient ads should be quickly deleted, no one is here to buy into a time-share, pick up on the latest deals from China, or to get the latest snake-oil.

  • Or the singer Penta, who is performing live at "The Place".

  • A largish dog? I wonder how it got that.

  • That's interesting looking..

    Here's the R-Pentamino:

    .00
    00.
    .0.

  • Thanks for running it for me!

He looks like a vampire, not that there is anything wrong with that.

My username was, at one time Pentalive on a website that no longer exists. I went to a different email and then later lost the password so I became WasPentalive. Pentalive is rooted in John Conway's Game of Life, and the R-Pentamino.

  • Actually, that would not be a problem for me as I usually use a mouse. As long as the screen swivels around for movie/video time I think that would be cool.

  • How did Stable Diffusion get this out of "WasPentalive"?

  • This looks real tasty! This is the second image with the same prompt. The first had no beans or tray, and I had not specified the thundercloud. Too bad it did not do an actual thundercloud.

  • From your discussion with Kanata "two numpads as a makeshift cheap "split ortholinear" keyboard" I am curious to see a picture of this. If I misunderstood the posts and this is the Kanat guy saying this then oops, otherwise, this sounds interesting as a super-portable full-sized keyboard.

  • It looks to me like it has created a mini-laptop and displayed it atop the keyboard of another full-sized laptop. The bismuth is used to decorate the back of the screen on the mini-laptop. Granted some of the spacing is off and the screen is too big for the mini-laptop.

  • One of their choices should have been: "This survey is exactly the reason I am going to a different browser. "

  • If it does not look good as is I will probs crop it to 16:10 with the boilers more centered in the picture. I am using it for my Debian bookworm laptop. It zooms the pictures as best it can, but if I crop it then it zooms that to fit.

  • Looks more like an ancient boiler or some arcane machine. Nice, I added it to my backgrounds folder.
