I was really skeptical when they hyped battle scenes because well, it's not a strong point of this manga, but damn I'm happy to be wrong. Dragon fight absolutely slaps.
Also, how how could they have dropped this panel when they decided what to animate for the "investigation"? We've seen ten hobos interrogated, but the only bunnygirl in the entire manga got cut. Madness:
I'm okay with a bot posting episodes for popular series (which are guaranteed to have comments), but the abundance of zero comment discussion posts benefits no one. I propose we limit shinobot to top 10-15-20 popular series per season (by MAL followers or we can vote before the season starts). Anything else can be posted manually (it's very simple anyway - go to /r/anime and copy the source text for the episode discussion, replace or remove one /r/community link and optionally link past discussions).
Turns out I really like fantasy without levels, skills, cheats, isekai protagonists or plot structure. I have almost forgotten what's it's like. Himmel is a bro.
Frieren is going to be a cult classic alongside Mushishi, Kino no Tabi, Haibane Renme, YKK and a few other similar melancholic works. I just don't see how they are planning to get mass audience.
Yes, author tried to squeeze too much misery in too few chapters. Maybe it flowed better in manga/LN but in anime it became a villain of the week show. Usubas could have taken an entire half cour, if they padded the first season with some drama/fluff/growth between ML and FL.
Overall still liked the show, but could have been better balanced.
It will come out Jan-Mar in Japan, maybe in Autumn 2024 in some select places of the world, and finally on BluRay in 2025, after which anyone will be able to see it.
Another self portrait, drawn when he was 90 or 91. Probably my favorite of his self portraits. Titled "The Young Painter":
It was incredible to see it live unprepared. When you look chronologically through his paintings, you see basically every modern style there is - the guy participated in a lot of art movements over the twentieth century—and was proficient and productive in several of them. He starts classically, but soon descends into surrealistic nightmares and all the other things he became famous for. And then, finally, in the end, after all this insanity of lines and cubes and shapes and trying to figure out meanings (or at least subjects), you come to the last painting in the exhibition, and it really looks like something a talented ten-year-old could draw - full of life and innocence and optimism.
Caught up to SSS-Class Suicide Hunter after hearing about it in OI subreddit. I don't really like tower/hunter manhwa, even dropped Solo Leveling back in the day despite phenomenal art because the story was just too repetitive. Anyway, SSS-Class Suicide Hunter. It's awesome. The tower is used more like a scene to tell different stories in different genres. MC starts pretty unlikable, barely better than people he has revenge boner on for. But, over time, he starts getting better, not as in grows on you, but as in becomes a better human being. For the other characters, I liked Sword Emperor because he combines being a comedic relief and being a wise mentor who cares about his student so well.
When do they get together?
