  • 43 rotations here as well. I think it's really hard to see any joy when we have grown up in a world that only seems to constantly take our happiness away at every turn.

I find solace in knowing this is all temporary and thankfully, the world will go on without us. Whether that's us as individuals or are species as a whole.

Until either of those inevitable points though, know that to some small degree you are not alone and there's at least one random stranger on the internet who is thinking about you in a caring way today.

  • Smooth Sailing - Queens of the Stone Age

This song has such an incredible vibe. It was played a lot on tour after shows. In the truck, the hotel, the bar. Wherever.

Reminds me of the good days of making music and hanging out with some of my favorite people. I'd like the whole world to feel free, loved and valid all at once. Might just make a difference.

  • Rules 34 is "if it exists, there's porn of it".

Rule 35 is the truly interesting one here though "if the porn doesn't exist, you are responsible for creating it"

Don't quite me exactly on those, I'm about 20 years out from my /b/ days.

  • So glad to not be alone on this. It felt unfocused. I think working with Mark Ronson gave Homme a bit too much leeway to make an album that tried to hard to be cool.

It somehow went over the ironic/unironic line that Queens has always danced around.

Like Clockwork has moments that veered towards camp and cheese but never felt insincere or cloying.

  • Villains by Queens of the Stone Age.

...like clockwork (the previous album) is too 3 for me and may be my all time favorite at any given moment. But the follow-up was just not what I was looking for.

  • Yes. And don't let the "no it's a meta account only now" crowd play that card. It's the same company sucking the same data in to the same ad drenched glory hole.

This wasn't the case with the Quest 1 until it was. You could run that completely standalone with SteamVR after the backlash over a required account, then once the blowback subsided, they reintroduced the requirement.

We learned this last year after dusting off the OG Quest and trying to get it running with SteamVR. It straight refused to work without a FB/Meta account. Creating a new one has a bunch of bullshit hoops that failed when attempted behind any type of ad blocking DNS so I gave up and put the paperweight back in the case and moved on.

Fuck Meta. Fuck FB. And Fuck anything else Zuck and co touch.

Sorry for the rant it's early and I haven't had caffeine.

  • If you smoke crack, your partners gotta smoke crack?

  • Can confirm. Skinny numetal kid in my teens, too many kitchen and bar jobs in my 20's and now mid 40's on Zoloft and apparently old goth dads are on the menu.

Cheers man. May the well never run dry.

  • If we could start deplatforming extremist rhetoric online that would be a huge boon against these types of things.

  • Have you tried being more in to US Politics, Linux and Privacy? I've found several very vibrant communities for those here.

  • As a shitter on the shitter I vote the name stays.

I'll take that to Matrix and my grave. 🤣

  • I like the idea of pronouncing it hook-ai-rs just for the implications on Ubers becoming u-bears.

"U-bears for hook-ai-rs" makes me chuckle. It's just the right amount of churches up.

  • Better than the 100% propaganda being spewed by Musk and his fluffers on X.

Fuck corpo social media. Arch, btw

  • There is also The Crew, Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon as well as Gran Turismo to mention a few more that I have played. Plus a whole slew of hardcore F1 titles, Nascar titles and the Trackmania series.

There might be something in there that catches your attention. Could just be a case of these not surfacing in your algorithm to get noticed.

  • How quickly can you write up a proposal? We can have GPT get us a mockup of the ui by tomorrow and be ready for production by Friday...

Did I say all of that correctly?
