  • If I have ADHD then it's comorbid with and somewhat masked by my autism (which lets me hyperfocus, but when I'm not, I'm all over the place and switching tracks constantly). My partner though does have a diagnosis, and I've been doing some research into ADHD treatments for her because of the Adderall shortage. I came across a few papers like this: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6574559/

L-Theanine is the main stimulant in tea (also found in other stuff like coffee and mushrooms, but in lower quantities). Maybe coffee would help with your symptoms if it had more theanine? I bought a bag of micronised theanine powder for our morning energy mix (100mg caffeine + 400mg theanine, in about 1L of water) on a health supplement site like this: https://taiyogmbh.com/en/start-en/brands/suntheanine-en/

Dissolves well, and it's working for us as a replacement for coffee. It seems to help her focus even without the Vyvanse, more than when she hasn't had either anyway. I really like that we can add any flavours we like, and we got a carbonator to make it seltzer too. Really refreshing on a hot sunny summer morning.

If you or anyone else in the thread try it, I'd love to hear how it works for you after a few days! Data points, y'know.

  • "Double-neurodiverse"? Look I'm all for more acceptance and understanding of me and my ND homies, but I'm pretty sure you only get the buff effect once no matter how many conditions with that flag you have; it doesn't stack.

  • I think you might be getting away from the original premise a bit - compromising information is only effective if the target is afraid of it coming to light, and that fear requires shame. That's all I'm saying; of course there are other ways of influencing people, but we're not talking about those, we're talking about having dirt on someone and threatening to release it to get them to do something you want.

Edit: Mostly, I'm highlighting the fact because of how Donald Trump has normalised not being ashamed of being a piece of shit. "Damaging" stuff comes out all the time and he's basically like "Yeah? So what?", and somehow that works. You could also look to David Letterman though; someone tried to blackmail him with his affair, and his response was to address it on national TV (which, whatever else I think about the guy, that was a BAMF move).

  • Three times? But there have only been two elections since MAGA was born, the third one is coming up... Primaries, rightrightright.

The mayor of Mesa, Arizona, John Giles, also spoke Tuesday night. Giles, a self-described “life-long Republican,” made headlines in July when he broke with his party and endorsed Harris.

“I have an urgent message for the majority of Americans who, like me, are in the political middle,” he said. “John McCain’s Republican Party is gone, and we don’t owe a damn thing to what’s been left behind. So let’s turn the page. Let’s put country first.”

Yes, let's put country first. These are Republicans we can work with. Let's have more of that!

  • Oh boy. If you think this is bad, you should try waiting a few weeks or months after you're signed up this time, then sign up for a new account using your current details, just with a different email. Spoiler: if you can answer the security questions, you're home free.

And remember that between the Equifax leak and more recent hacks, at this point, every sensitive detail for every member of the economy is now in the hands of bad actors. If they want your shit, or into it, they'll social engineer it.

Should passwords have maximum character counts? Sure, to prevent overflow attacks (or whatever) by pasting five different analyses of the movie Primer as your password. It should be longer than 20 in any case. But are there other, way worse security issues? Yes.

  • Not the bad kind of delay (like from changing developers years into development) for once. I might actually live to see both Half Life 3 and VTMBL2 released - I guess two back to back miracles like that wasn't a bit much to hope for after all.
