  • I hate fast food and burgers but I kinda like McDonalds. I mean I go there every other year but I kinda like it. It's the only place I like the fries from, I like the hamburger/cheeseburger, the patties in general, I like the big mac l, the ketchup, the sauces. I also only like their chicken nuggets, I hate chicken nuggets otherwise.

That being said, McDonalds's quality is vastly different around the world. I'll never forget the half burnt half frozen patty of the hamburger at the Denver airport. And in general how gross McDonalds was in the USA. In Germany I kind of like it. In Russia it was different but also ok, with some items being tastier and others super gross.

  • Our daughter is just 2 years 3 months old and she is already singing made up melodies and lyrics. A couple of days back she made up a song about new bushes (whatever that is). Her friend (3,5 years) jammed with her dad on a keyboard and started singing very creepily "it sat for five minutes, sat for five minutes, sat for five minutes, and then it died".

What I love most about what kids say in these young years is that it is so freaking random. As a teen I loved dadaism and absurd theater and all this random stuff coming out of toddlers is absolutely golden. It sounds like a Merz poem at times. I can absolutely imagine a four year old telling a story about a cleaning lady with 5 kids and a husband.

  • If you are an aspiring serial killer planning on serial killing then I'd say at victim #3 you should really invest in a small kitchen cremator to ignite your serial killing career

  • Honestly in some way he was lucky. There were people helping him and trying to rescue him and he could hear them directly and even see someone's face at a point, they even gave him a radio to communicate to his wife waiting outside of the cave. He was comforted and had company and hope. A lot of other "explorers" or "adventurers" who die in freak accidents don't have that much luck.

  • You need to get them hooked on something else. But be careful what you wish for because this will only give temporary relief until you start hating the new addiction and wish back the previous one. My girl went from binge rewatching a penguin cartoon to the little mole to a horribly animated newer cartoon about cats and dogs. And I fear we have reached the point at which we cannot hide or deny the existence of peppa pig any longer and I already regret dissing the kittens & puppies stuff because jfc I watched peppa pig for the first time today and I won't be able to bear this one for the love of God

  • I would guess the ad revenue. Twitter sells ads. Businesses are probably less likely to advertise on a rebranded platform that implemented so many controversial changes that advertising on it is now not only hitting a much smaller target group (since people left) but is also associated negatively, which might lead to losing even more clients. It is like a local organic fair trade food brand being associated with nestle. This will probably not lead to an increase in sales but much the opposite.

  • Those are very kind words, thank you. But the quote I gave was purely imaginative, I might have said something along these lines back then (in 2012ish I think), which resulted in the conversation mentioned above, where a close person said something like "this is actually something people with x often say, it is called y" (he was seeing a therapist back then and was constantly trying to diagnose me as a female narcissist I think).

As for now, I am doing very well, it just often comes to mind. That person left some impressions I often think about. There was also a story about a monster in a suitcase that I vaguely remember and it crosses my mind so often, I will probably also ask about that eventually.
