  • Seagate in general are unreliable in my own anecdotal experience. Every Seagate I've owned has died in less than five years. I couldn't give you an estimate on the average failure age of my WD drives because it never happened before they were retired due to obsolescence. It was over a decade regularly though.

  • I'm in the zero to ten camp for most foods, but right there with you at 47 for fatty meat of any kind. It feels disgusting in my mouth and to swallow it without gagging I need to basically cut it up with my incisors into smaller and smaller pieces until the texture disappears.

  • My favorite is when someone responds with this but any cursory search to "educate yourself" delivers information that overwhelmingly opposes what they were saying.

"Educate yourself (using only fringe websites that I agree with)."

  • the quality was better

This very much depends on when you're taking about. Over the air television when I was young was absolutely not better quality than any streaming service now. 480i delivered by an analog interference-prone signal definitely does not compare favourably to streaming.

  • Doing less work has been the primary motivating factor behind basically all of human progress. The problem is that the savings is lining shareholder pockets instead of reducing employee workload.

  • Interesting, but this isn't an entire heart, is it? Only half? Or isn't a human heart? Human hearts have separate left and right pairs of chambers which pump oxygenated and de-oxygenated blood separately. Or am I mistaken?

  • I don't even understand the appeal for either of the involved parties. I don't want things in or around my asshole, nor do I want any involvement with those of others. For reasons that completely elude me there seems to have been a cultural shift during my life from butt stuff being deviant behavior and fodder for jokes to almost a default expectation.

I don't actually believe that it is a common expectation in real life dating between actual non-terminally-online people, but it certainly seems to be portrayed as such.

  • Bad design. Plenty of EVs have their brake pedal apply a mixture of regen and friction braking, with the actual proportions dependent on factors like how quickly you hit the brake (soft braking is entirely regen, slamming the brakes apples almost entirely actual brakes in my experience), or how much charge is in the battery (you can't safely pump power from regen into a nearly full battery).

Plenty of them also let you control how much passive regen happens when you lift the pedal, with the default on mine at least feeling very similar to the slowing you get when lifting off the gas with an automatic transmission. It's adjustable from none at all to moderate braking force, and when I turn it up lifting my foot from the gas illuminates my brake lights.

  • The actual amount of centrifugal force is also tiny. Sure, it's a relatively fast linear speed compared to something like a merry-go-round, but a merry-go-round's angular velocity is much higher, and that's the one you use when calculating the force trying to fling you off.

Also, centripetal force is the inward force observed by an external non-rotating reference frame which deflects motion into a curve. You've conflated it with centrifugal force, which is the outward "fictitious" force experienced in a rotating reference frame.
