  • They have been contacted and responded with aggression, so they are obviously aware that they are not alone, but want to be left alone. Free will is free will.

  • Very strange, I'm using water straight from the kettle just after bringing it to a full boil, and don't taste anything plastic.

  • You need it to remap some of the buttons on the side. I have the same garbage just for this purpose.

  • Is it an authentic aeropress, not a cheap knockoff? There are a bunch that sell under the same name but aren't in fact manufactured by aeropress ltd., and those can taste off since the cheap plastic is not certified for use with boiling water, and might not even be bpa free.

  • So sorry for your loss!

As for my motivation, I did a year of work & travel in Norway after finishing my bachelor's and picked up enough to be conversational. Actually I tried staying afterwards but could only score student jobs and temporary stuff, so decided to build my CV a bit more before going back.

Life took a few unexpected turns and instead of returning after a couple years, I ended up working all over Africa and then Asia for 15+ years, but I still kept going, thinking I would one day return.

Now that the time might have come in the near future (= next 2-ish years), I was looking more and more into the requirements and figured out that the wealth tax would break me - I'm by no means filthy rich, but they tax you on assets above ~160k USD, and since I don't qualify for any government pensions due to my erratic work, I've set aside a good chunk of investments for my retirement that'd effectively be crippled in its growth potential. The only thing exempt are a primary residence there (considered to 25% of its value) and local government pension accounts.

That pretty much killed Norway for me, so I'm now looking at Sweden instead, where there's no such thing, and cost of living are also lower. So I decided to switch over to learning Swedish instead, it's not far off. I was there last year and was able to have a pretty normal conversation with a real estate agent where I spoke Norwegian and he Swedish, and we understood each other just fine.

For visiting only, English is just fine. But if you plan to work and socialise long term, it's absolutely essential to integrate.

  • Learning Swedish now, since I already speak passable Norwegian, it's not the hardest endeavor.

  • Nothing to do with that, China bans all explicit content, whether it's porn videos, photos, or in suggestive text form.

  • Are people really actively using tablets? I thought that was more of a hype and is now something that lies around and gets occasional use on the couch, but not really productive.

  • A secondary device can't be identified by kernel level anti-cheat either. If you have a standalone device that identifies as a USB keyboard and mouse and then generates inputs that give you a 100% headshot count, there's nothing you could detect through the kernel, since all it detects are keystrokes and clicks.

  • Nah they want to attack whoever they feel like without having to go through a meeting.

  • Sounds like it's only affecting TCP and TLS, so VPN over UDP would be a quick fix.

  • Works just fine if you put your phone in desktop mode.

  • Facebook works perfectly fine in browser, there's literally no need for that shit app.

  • Only the king or queen (if rightful heir to the throne) is immune, in accordance with article 5 of the Norwegian codex.

The king does have the right to pardon criminals though. He doesn't exactly seem to be very fond of the kid though, and is generally seen as a very just man and close to the people.

  • Sounds like the attack scenario is very sophisticated and targeted, and only works within the range of Bluetooth low energy (BLE) connectivity, so 10-15 meters under best circumstances. At that point they might as well eavesdrop on my calls in person.

  • GDPR. First time opening a European website? German ones like this are particularly transparent (by law, not choice).

  • Doesn't matter, you need the report as proof for the chargeback.

  • I hope you did report the matter to the police regardless?

  • I'd say yes, since you want a uniform temperature across your brews. If you do them back to back the different might be minimal, but if there's more time in between, you could get notable differences. Maybe give it a try and measure the temperature drop over time?
