  • From what ive heard, these risc v chips have a long way to go for performance. Is that still true?

  • All the good stuff is in the top tier

  • That picture of the java station brings me back.

I had a friend who's Dad worked for Sun and he used to bring back stuff for us to play with. Stuff like pizza box sparcs, ultra 60s, java stations, cobalt cubes etc.

We used to have fun fiddling with solaris and installing openbsd on them.

    Good times

  • Many common Publisher scenarios—including creating professionally branded templates, printing envelopes and labels, and producing customized calendars, business cards, and programs—are already available in other Microsoft 365 apps such as Word and PowerPoint.

  • I use syncthing and poweramp.

  • Was it foundation that did this to you?

  • Otherwise the teabags drips all over the surface!

If you must know, most of the time I don't use a teabag. I use loose leaf in a teapot. No squeezing required.

  • WTF is this string squeeze technique?!

Squidge the bag against the side of the cup with the spoon.

  • I have a couple of kuru toga pencils, but found them to feel a little spongy. There needs to be a little give to allow the ratchet to turn, but sadly I couldn't get on with the feel.

  • Faber castell tk fine. You were right.

  • Cheers.

Yeah, I know YoL, but a bit pricey.

My fav is still pentel p205 for some reason.

  • What's the mechanical pencil in the thumbnail?

    I love a good pencil.

  • I have a friend who collects PDAs and he has lots of different psion machines.

I'll never forget when he brought a 5 MX in to college and showed me it running window windowmaker in our physics class. I was blown away.

  • Hah! I didn't expect anyone to know the psion one!

  • Oh yeah? When I were a lad we didn't have netbooks with them fancy Atom chips with their la-de-da x86 ISAs.

We made do with the psion netbook.

    (I didn't have one)

  • I use OpenSMTPD for mail delivery, dovecot for IMAP, fdm for filtering and some tool I forget the name of for DKIM signing.

To bulk move mail around, just move the maildirs.

    (Hosting email is a pain)

  • It depends how shiny you want to keep it.

I do mine every 3 days, but it's quality podcast time.

Razor blades cost pennies. So cheap.
