  • Agree. There's more to my interpretation of "Monkey Island-like" than being point & click:

    • Cartoonish style <-- They seem to have a similar art style, I'll give them that.
    • Absurd humor
    • Pirate themed
    • Satirical
    • Undead
    • Voodoo

Following the articles logic, I would say that Minecraft or Skyrim is Quake-like, seeing as they're both first person view.

Further down in the linked article it instead calls it "Monkey Island-inspired" and that's probably a much better description to have in the title.

  • Drivespace was what enabled me to play Baldurs Gate 1 back in the day. My specs back then:

    • 32MB RAM
    • Pentium166 MMX
    • 500ish MB drive (My 2GB went bust, so I used an old spare drive for quite a while)
    • 16X CDROM
    • 2X CD Burner... yarr, that made me a lot of money
    • 3dFX Voodoo2 8MB coupled with an ATI Rage Pro
    • Soundblaster Live
  • Can't speak for Mozillas multihop implementation, but in general I can tell you that the concept of having multiple tunnels together does in theory make your comms more private. If a 3rd party were to try to MITM you, they would have to breach both tunnels to read your data.

  • Confirming this.

I was in an accident when I was 15, severing the nerves for two of my facial muscles (levator labii superioris and zygomaticus minor, to be specific). I am now 40, and my smile is crooked because of this.

The nerves have healed, as confirmed by various tests, but my brain has simply forgotten how to control these muscles. It's hard to explain, but on the right side of my face I can control those muscles just fine... I just cannot translate the same action into something for the left side.

It's not really a disability, so I don't really care that much, but I have considered asking my doctor if he can send me to a neurologist or something.

  • As someone who flies a lot as part of my job, I mostly use airline miles to upgrade my seat to business class. On a few occasions I cover the upgrade myself if the price is reasonable.

Why? Because as a somewhat tall guy, when I have a 10 hour flight a coach seat makes me ache for days. And if it's an overnight flight, a business class seat actually enables me to sleep.

On business trips that only last a couple of days, the project managers sometimes approves business class tickets, so that we're actually fit for work when arriving.

Any flights longer than 5-6 hours is usually when I begin to consider upgrading. Because then I have a chance to actually get some rest onboard instead of just sitting there, waiting.

EDIT: Business class comes with lounge access, and for some that's also a plus, but my frequent flier level already gives me lounge access all over the world, even when flying riffraff-class. Plus business class also comes with extra luggage allowance, but I have that by default too.

  • The situation here is so horrible I get buried under sunlight avalanches on a weekly basis. Sometimes at night, even, during summer time. As for windspills, well, I live in coastal Norway; it rains horizontally.

I blame hydroelectric and wind power for this weather pollution. Or maybe I have the cause and effect reversed, idk.

  • I have to admit that I'm curious about something similar; the death camps and ots mechanism seemed highly inefficient, but the fact that I have to preface any questions on the topic with how much i detest the actual concept made me conclude that it's probably best not to ask. That's the annoying fact about being interested in finding efficient technical solutions while also hating nazis and everything they stood for.
