  • Yeah I'm going to show my age here. But I've migrated from fidonet (bbs days) to Usenet. To slashdot. To digg. To Reddit. To Lemmy. And I'm 100% positive one day I'll migrate again.

    Forums evolve and change. And once it changes go find your tribe again. Your peeps will still be out there especially this kinda tech leaning crowd.

    I've stopped worrying about it. Humans are going to human.

  • He watches TV. George Conway has been doing an experiment. He's been micro targeting ads to micro target Trump specifically to get a reaction.

    They bought ad time on fox and things like the golf channel for the region around Mar a Lago. And as soon as the ads played Trump started rage posting on social media.

  • Not a defender of them but they have specific plantations for growing the fuel just for this. So the idea is that it's a closed loop. Carbon is captured from the air as the trees grow and then that very same carbon is burnt for energy generation. So no extra carbon is added to the atmosphere when you consider the whole cycle.

    Compare with coal and gas where carbon is dug up from under the ground and added to the atmosphere and never removed again.

  • No-one disagrees with you. I think the point being made is that people who mean equity still call it equality. Until seeing this post I didn't even know the word equity has this context and this difference to equality and I'm almost 50.

    When most common folk say they support equally I would argue they mean the middle panel of this meme where everyone gets to see.
