  • Talking about image files? What’s wrong with TIFF?

  • Haha yeah in the apocalypse there’s no fancy USB C. But one day it might not be so fancy and new. I haven’t seen an old DVI in a while except electric drum set.

  • This isn’t the place to ask if you want a real answer.

  • The silly take is that using it is “part of the problem”.

Also, the glue on pizza thing is nearly a moot point. The models are much more advanced now and will continue to be.

The commercial LLM’s can share their sources now so that’s also a moot point.

It’s not going away. Learn to use it effectively.

  • At this point I’m ready to consider a military coup

  • Damn they’re behind. I was using emuflight for a bit and iNAV. Wonder why they aren’t using iNAV. Great for long distance. You also need a barometer for altitude.

  • Man the whole world is cycling towards conservative views right now. Nationalism is so hot right now.

  • I’m just gonna wear a mask and tactical gear from now on. Call everybody “brother” and drink American beer. Wait out the next 3.5 years.

  • I wonder what configurator they’re using because I’m pretty sure most have a hold mode now. And if not, why not use one that does? It won’t hold like a DJI drone, but def works.

I’d say I was a decent pilot when I was flying a lot but my skill level after a month vs a year of flying was vastly different, and I could still be a lot better.

  • Also as an fpv pilot, the line, “lack of qualified pilots / hard to fly” makes me want to give it a shot.

  • Haha nice. Careful those Luigi fanboys and girls are die hard.

  • That’s not how it works though. It would be great if these AI models were deterministic but you can get different answers to the same questions at any given time. Given different input and given different goals, the agents wouldn’t likely fail on the same task when given proper instruction.

The main point is that it’s not going to be correct all the time. And neither is a human.

The regulation comes in when you’re dealing with sensitive information, like health diagnoses. There needs to be some logic in place to stop the models from being so confident with wrong answers that could hurt people.

Realistically, neither of us know what’s gonna work until we try it. Theoretically, verification agents would work.

  • Go to open mic or karaoke nights. Hype everybody up. Talk to people after their performance.

Start a hobby and find a local group to do your hobby with other people. Sometimes if you’re really into the hobby the group will find you. E.g. you’re at the park doing your hobby and see other people doing your hobby. You talk to them and they know a group of people doing it too.

Assuming your job doesn’t involve much face to face interaction, volunteer somewhere in person and talk to the people you’re working with and the people you’re serving.

Set up a booth at a high foot traffic area with a sign that says, “Free jokes.” Or “Free Magic.” Memorize some decent jokes or magic tricks and do them. Talk to people. Ask if they want you to perform at their house for their friends. Become the token magician friend.

  • What he wants is to keep taking home a paycheck. Just a puppet.

  • Sure but they’re doing opposite tasks. You’re absolutely right that they could be wrong sometimes. So are people. Over time it gets better, especially with more regulation and smarter models.
