I'm convinced Google uses its reCAPTCHA to promote Chrome

  • I read that the "level of annoyance" (phrasing mine) has to do with your score (i.e. how likely Google thinks you are a bot). And I wouldn't be surprised if using any browser other than ones in their ecosystem reduces your score more.

    Anyway, there are other captcha systems websites could use but choose not to.

  • I made the switch and everything I want to play works. Some of it needed a bit of tweaking, though. Luckily instructions exist, and some began working with new Proton updates. It's a good time to be a gamer on Linux.

  • No problems here and I've used a VPN with Steam for years! Just make sure the location of your account is set to your country so you pay the correct price for your area. c:

  • From what I have seen/heard from people still on there, there's a new setting that only allows you to receive DMs from "verified users" (i.e. Twitter Blue subscribers). You are automatically opted into this and have to opt out to receive DMs from others.
