  • I think you need like a project that will give you a goal and things to look up to do specific things. What got me into Linux was running a minecraft realm, then we hit limitations on the service so opted for a server instead which lead down the road to a VPS and had me using Linux and commands

  • I felt the same way, after dual booting linux and windows for a while, I stopped booting into windows so decided to just wipe both drives and do a raid0 install of linux. Finally I got to messing with games expecting to have to tweak settings and everything but nope it just booted up. even better running on raid0 now I dont even see load screens with games like starfield.

  • what I do is open a containerized tab on firefox so that youtube has no history enabled and doesnt fill the page with obnoxious content then I search for what I went there for then I close the tab so everything is purged. for my subscriptions I use a container on my server that downloads their videos and ads them to my plex server so I can watch them there when I have time to watch stuff its all in one place

  • I haven't tried with a drawing tablet but I like excalidraw a lot for planning things out like my homelab layout or bases in games. I installed the excalidraw container on my server just so I have my own instance always available

  • one backup would be a bit under 3tb, if I could keep a second copy it would be 6tb. I just want some disk failure protection really since these are mostly the drives I pull out from my main server as I upgrade to larger drives

  • Watches are just more convenient. You don't need to carry a phone everywhere and with texts and calls showing on the watch you don't need to find your phone to check.

I use my watch with alarms/ timers to know when I need to clock out or in from lunch etc while I mostly leave my phone at my desk while at work so if I'm walking around the building I still get my alerts through my watch
