  • Hydroxic acid is a better name.

  • Well, perhaps not Monero, and perhaps not a loaf of bread either, but also not far from that. One large e-shop in Slovakia I use (Alza) supports crypto payments via Confirmo (BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, SOL, POL, LTC, TRX). They sell mostly electronics, but also some food items.

    Now, since you've mentioned bread:

But I haven't yet tried crypto.

  • Reminds me of a joke I've heard from a few people now. "Let's drink faster, guys, it's already getting dark."

  • 8.1, not 8.
8.1 had a regular desktop as well, but it was really well optimized.

I tried it on some really old laptop, and it even beat Windows XP and Linux Mint in speed. Probably because it was mostly meant for stuff like tablets.

  • They also treat their phone like a capricious deity- theyโ€™re afraid to touch anything.

Considering that there was a MIUI bug that would soft-brick the phone if you set minimum width to a too large value (smaller display size), or if you disabled "MIUI optimization", or perhaps even installed a bad update, maybe better to be careful. But MIUI was really on the extreme with bugs.

I didn't personally experience those, though I only played with the display size and only updated once, as MIUI 13 had way too many known bugs. But I found there was some, though not large chance of SD card corruption if I didn't "Eject" it before reboot.

But to be fair, the optimization and minimum width are both in Developer settings.

As for (possibly) permanent things, from my mind:

    • Basically anything in MTK Engineer mode or other dialer-accessible secret menus (hidden just like Developer settings)
    • That time Samsung disabled band mode selection with an update, but the settings wouldn't reset thus remaining locked however they were set by the user (probably not used by regular users, but just like with MTK EM, there were apps to access this without special codes)
    • And lastly one that may actually impact regular users who utilize eSIM adapters (e.g.: eSTK, JMP, 5ber, 9esim):

    https://osmocom.org/projects/pysim/wiki/UE_behavior_with_plastic_eUICC

eUICC is recognized and listed by internal SIM manager; switching profiles on a sysmoEUICC1-C2T resulted in an error which made that plastic eUICC disappear from both the built-in SIM manager as well as EasyEUICC-SGP.26. Moving that same eUICC to another phone works just fine. However, moving that eUICC back to the Pixel 4a 5G shows the problem persists. Even another sysmoEUICC1-C2T would not even be recognized by EasyEUICC anymore. Its almost as if the plastic-eUICC functionality has been bricked

  • Heh, that sounds like... me.
Yeah, I know it can be moved. But what I missed more was fullscreen start menu. Then again, my favorite Windows version is 8.1.

I was also postponing updates (for months) when there was a switch from Plasma 5 to Plasma 6. And I wish I could have kept it for a while on Arch, but partial upgrades always eventually catch up on me.

  • I've had Poco X3 Pro motherboard eater. 2 in-warranty motherboard replacements, so 3 motherboards dead in total, each lasting on average for 9 months. Quite the lifespan.

  • Huh?
I thought Skype was still a widely used thing.

  • A bright screen will surely make me fall asleep.

  • ThinkPad? Without clit mouse? Am I supposed to use my own nipple, or god forbid, the TrackPad?

  • Sorry, no useful reply. I just want to check on the post later. But I don't even know to use docker... Heh, just noticed your username is Docker.

  • There's also a RISC-V laptop - DC ROMA

But it's still mostly experimental, rather than for regular usage.

  • Technically possible. How large would such a machine be though...

  • You're making me feel like I miss it but I haven't even started yet ๐Ÿ’€

  • Depends. I don't have a baseline for how others my age feel.

Physically, it's probably lame, but still: I often have lower back pain and neck pain. Neck especially in the morning, lower back later in the day. Then there's psoriasis, a persisting flare-up on the back of my scalp that managed to resist prescription-strength corticosteroids. Tonsil stones I can't fully get rid of that I have to push out often. They can get slightly painful if left alone for a few days otherwise. Most food I eat either results in constipation or diarrhea. My right hip sometimes starts popping and it can get pretty uncomfortable when walking a lot. If I have to lift up something heavy, I'll be shaky afterwards for quite a while. Yesterday I found out that I seem to have external hemorrhoids. My teeth are fairly sensitive, and I had a filling done on one of them.

Mentally: I am still studying. After I finish, the 5 days a week of school will get replaced with 5 days of work. I'll still likely have to cut time from my sleep. Who knows, I'll possibly need a part time job anyway, because minimum wage in Slovakia is just EUR 4.70/h. So, I'll still be cutting my sleep to 3 - 4 hours. Then on weekends I won't feel like doing anything, and anyway, I'll sleep through most of the Saturday. Or, work part-time on weekends.
Things will keep getting more expensive faster than the wages increase. I'll still be sure to know that almost every purchase is sponsored by slavery and damage to the ecosystem because that's cheaper. Our government will eventually try to merge Slovakia into Russia... somehow. I won't be making enough to leave the country.
I'll have too keep up with the miserable life for roughly 40 - 50 years, then my body will be very well unusable. I won't have any money saved up and die homeless.
I do not see a possibility for change towards better. People find it easier to excuse the government, corporation, or even individual billionaire or other person with power than say a homeless person they seen steal half a bread from supermarket.
Society cannot be fixed, it can only go extinct. And we will, perhaps not so far into the future, as the short-term gains are always preferred.

Simply, I feel like I am done with life. There won't be anything good enough. Sure, there will be good moments, but not enough to justify to myself being born. A good introduction to antinatalism. I will not create further life. Hell, I've heard from people they had kids so that someone will take care of them once they retire. Disgusting.

For the track, I am 19. Life is just waiting for death. I wish it could be shorter.

  • You can still force local account. Edit: nevermind, first sentence of the article:

Earlier today, we published an article regarding Microsoft's recent removal of the BYPASSNRO script and how it has irked Windows 11 users

    Well, fuck.

On setup: Shift + F10 -> click into the CMD window (it opens unfocused)

     <>

    cd oobe
    bypassnro

And do not connect to network until you finish setup.

Disabling auto updates was also very simple and intuitive. Couldn't be easier.

Meta + R -> Type gpedit.msc and press enter -> On left click Administrative templates -> All settings -> Configure Automatic Updates -> Select option 2, Enabled and Apply
