  • It would be a mess talking to anyone about time where you do not live.

Say that you wake up at 06:00, everyone understands. Remove all time zones and now you wake up at 14:53. Anyone not native to your location would have no clue where in the sky the sun is relative to you and what that actually means for your day.

Would 14:53 for you post removal be compared to 06:00 or 09:00 pre removal? What if oyu are porned post removal and do not have the frame of reference for the old system. How would you go about it then?

I can see the merit in keeping time zones.

  • It's either money or your data. I prefer to pay with money. If enough people do, the price might lower (hopeium) or the competition might increase for the same service, creating better or cheaper services in the same space.

  • PopOS is great! I have used a few other (but never strayed far from APT), and I also did some light reading when doing my final decision . PopOS was the best fit for and easy-to-use OS without Snaps. Linux is great and all with how much control you have, but I want as little maintenance as possible for my daily driver.

  • Started using Debian because I only used it for servers to begin with. Learned APT and never dared to learn anything else. So now I just stick with any distro using APT and a DE I like.

  • If I read lsblk correctly, I am using ext4 for my whole drive. I have used linux for some years now, but I never bothered to learn more than "next next next done" when installing my OS.

Does BTRFS popOS allow BTRFS? Should I bother for a daily driver?

  • A had experience, A told B, B told me. If the story is a lie, A is the one who lied. But I will never know, because I do not talk with B anymore (lives in another country) and I have never met A.

Another possibility is that it happened, just not the way I was told. Perhaps only one person stood and did the salute, perhaps the salute did not happen but the teacher instead though Adolf Hitler was head or state (or someone from his faction). Or I just remember it wrong, it was not A who had the experience and it is just an urban legend. It was 10+ years ago, after all.

Either way, I hope that story is not real.
