  • There are lots of IT/SysAdmin on Lemmy so their work will have to switch. I think their concern/sentiment gives others the impression that personal PC owners will also have to switch.

  • I generally don't see ads due to uBlock Origin. Or am I just not noticing them? Lol.

    I'm talking about the results as ads(paid for result ranking). Not as much a thing in DDG but google, they're awful and you get maybe 2 results a page that aren't paid promotion.

    Freya Holmer did a good video on AI/SEO i think touches a little on this...

  • I found a long term goal and give myself 30min a week with drawing. I find this keeps the drawing supplies more ready and apparent. So i end up spending a few hours a week because it's right there on my desk. Knowing I've made even a little recent progress is more motivating than none.

    Long term goal is getting through Riven Pheonix' structure of man.

  • Awful! But the fun is having something i don't need to be good at. Though i now have a lot of things i'm at least mediocre at, those are just old hobbies.

    I usually learn my hobbies at small fraction of the rate i would have learned something in school. Years instead of weeks/months. I learn them deeper this way and don't develop burnout.

  • I feel the same except Google is worse due to higher number of ads in results and most SEO prioritizes Google over Bing meaning more Google results are AI spam articles.

  • Dish soap diluted in water also works and is pollinator friendly.

    Just a little bit of soap, a few drops in an old cleaner spray bottle filled with water should do it. Too much and you risk sun-burning the plants.
