  • Credit scores only exist in the US. Everywhere else just compares your income to your debt.

Edit: apparently there are several other countries with credit scoring systems. The more you know... The US system, at least, is still bullshit designed to stratify economic class not only individually but by gender and with generational impact.

  • LOL. I knew there were a lot, never looked it up! The problem is, in the time travelling paradigm, those would fit in the self-mending timeline end of the theory. This version would simply have many dead hitler. Like schroedinger's cat or photons or whatever.

  • The explanation is misdirecting because yes they're removing the penguins from the zoo. But they also interpreted the question as to if the zoo had infinite non-repeating exhibits whether it would NECESSARILY contain penguins. So all they had to show was that the penguins weren't necessary.

By tying the example to pi they seemed to be trying to show something about pi. I don't think that was the intention.

  • Maybe instead we could put those resources towards restoring the lives of the victims instead of the punishment of the sentenced?

A punitive system leaves the victims out cold where the only solace they can hope for is that the person responsible is punished appropriately.

A better one might provide mental/physical healthcare, social support, and an option for a direct role in the reconciliation process for the victim and their immediate family/household.

I just don't see how "justice" can be achieved when everyone has paid in and all we get for it is someone locked in a cell or murdered while the people they wronged haven't seen an ounce of support.

  • Are you insinuating coercion? That would be assault. I'm confused about your point, just that we don't know?

    [Edit: removed misdirecting argument]

It's wrong to cast an assumption that sex workers are bound to be in poor mental health or that their mental state should impact their professional judgement.

The teen had access to a psychologist who also worked through these decisions with them. Yes teens are dumb but this was a decision made with a lot more thought and guidance than most teens have for similar things.

  • That must assume the factory to be managed with integrity. Pharmaceuticals are usually held to a high standard. Chemistry in general is done best in larger batches with tightly controlled processes. But that also doesn't mean a skilled chemist can't make a perfectly fine batch with a good setup.

4Thieves is good stuff though. Consider their epipen. They cut the cost by a factor of something like 1/30th of market. They still sourced the epinephrine from a commercial company tho.

  • The way the article is written it looks like they focused heavily on consent. Judging by the deep focus on ethics and the professionalism expressed in this decision that presumably means consent for the sex worker as well. They were probably brought in on the discussion for a while before the session to work on boundaries and means.

None of this reads as a rush job.

  • Tbf the cast iron i'm cooking out of was found as scrap in the woods. I wash with soap regularly, and use normal oil/butter qty's. I just don't dishwasher it, not that i have a dish!asher XD. I've seasoned it one single time which is right after i found it. It's been a year.
