  • It works great these past few days, and I've used it today. It works. You might not use the latest version.

Don't use F-droid official repos, use the NewPipe f-droid repo or the IzzyOnDroid one.

  • I was worried about this with my "parents in law" and then it turned out to be pretty okay, with quite a bit of positive side-effects.

Lots of free, homemade food with a quick phone call.

Family is nice to have close. Yes, sometimes they are trash, but if they are good people, you will realise why people in more "family-based" countries are so much happier.

  • IMO, the best order for everything is:

    1. Piped (you can keep subs and playlists but watch from another instance, this is PERFECT when one instance gets limited)
    2. Invidious
    3. Tubular (NewPipe fork with sponsorblock)
    4. YouTube website

On Android, LibreTube (Piped) is the best IMO, you can log into some Piped server for subs and playlists, but select another instance for viewing, so you still get your subs and playlists even if you had to fall over to another instance to watch videos. I have 3 or 4 instances that I know generally work, so I switch between them whenever one gets limited or broken.

If YouTube changed something that breaks Piped, that's when I try Clipious (Invidious), and if that is broken too, I go to Tubular (NewPipe fork with sponsorblock). Last resort is obviously YouTube website.

  • Oh I am very sorry, I think I did not express myself properly. I wasn't particularly referring to you, but rather the typical user who will answer to the "Musk is one of the richest" with the "company value" thing.

I do think tho that whatever your opinion on Musk's companies is, the market clearly thinks otherwise, which banks are part of it.

Also, I strongly dislike Musk. But it's very clear to me that he has enough power to do whatever he wants like wasting lots of money trying new things until something sticks.

  • He might not be now, but like a year ago he was the richest human ever. I don't think he's fallen from the top 20. And that is just the official numbers. Imagine what might be hidden.

And don't come to me with the "but shares are not money". Shares are basically money, and you can even use them to convince banks to give you more.

  • If you were getting bald (which you might not) you'd have 2 options:

    • hair transplant (if needed) and medication for the rest of your life.
    • shave/trim and move on

I'm generally for team 2. I'd hate medicating (which from internet opinion has various long-lasting unwanted side effects) for the rest of my life for such stupid thing.

I must confess, I have the benefit that I don't look that bad. Also, being fit becomes much more required when bald, 😅, you have to compensate your older look; and side effects from exercise are virtually all positive. So I'll take it.

    • ISO date and time.
    • Metric system.
    • USB-C.
    • Git.
    • ConventionalCommits.
    • Semantic versioning.
    • XDG Base Directory.
    • OpenDocument.
    • HDR10+.

Also, I would enforce every online shop, transport company, hotels... All of these functioning under a federated market, sort of like the fediverse. Impossible to corrupt. Impossible to monopolize. True choice.
