  • Oh man. Of all the self-hosted projects to not grasp, you picked the darling.

The creator of Immich had the same use case that got me in to self hosting:

    1. A new family with child.
    2. A whole lot of photos and video to share between the spouse and with extended family.
    3. Ballooning Google (One) photos costs, to which I asked: am I going to pay this forever? Storage also caps out at 2 tb, which we are using more than.
    4. A growing discontent with the idea of every family moment being harvested by a tech company I do not like.

At the core - Immich allows me a continuity of service and saves money while keeping spousal approval at the required levels.

  • Which is what I mean - any way you slice it, this has 2 inputs less than the Steam Deck (I haven't looked for the number of grip buttons on this thing).

I don't use all the input options on every single game, but there are plenty that I do (namely shooters like Deep Rock, Helldivers, etc and hotkey heavy RPGs like DA Inquisition)

  • Dunno. Despite the swappable inputs, there is still no way to get trackpad + joystick + buttons/dpad at the same time.

  • Neglects mention of Tailscale!

  • Slipstream 5000

Probably the first and last racing game that I invested a lot of time in.

  • Played a lot of kids friendly games this last year (getting my daughter in to games) so many were surprising to me.

But of the games, she kept coming back to Alba's Adventure - so that one racked up the play time.

My personal game that racked up the most time was Legend of Zelda, Echoes of Wisdom. After that, Judero.

  • I do hope this backfires on them considerably.

  • So much for Nintendo's previous naming conventions. I was really hoping for the New Super Nintendo Switch U.

  • I'm getting this set up at my parents'. Just gotta remind them not to touch the box!

  • Hammed usually carries negative connotations, so I am confused by it's use here. Are you describing something positive or negative about the performance?
