  • My previous mouse pad's rubber had been breaking down due to the oils and sweat and my palm pressure.
These things tend to do that.

I have added this one additional consideration on frequently touched devices that I own.
Got a mouse, bought the plastic finish version instead of the rubber finish one. Got headphones, considering (-ing because that was the thing that made me start considering and I didn't consider it before) ear-pad replacement options. Got a torch with a rubber-like cover: well that's an outdoor thing made for light rain, so hoping it is rugged enough.

  • Calling others "creepy" for putting an effort to help you out, just for fun or sth needs to be de-incentivised. And that's what the ones above are doing.

Also, the chap who attempted identity theft is probably not going around telling you where they got your information (or that they got it, or that they exist).

  • It would make a lot of sense to the company trying to decide how large their production run should be.

For the customer, it only really makes sense if they are getting something out of it, like immunity to possible price hikes at launch.

I don't pre-order, but then, I am a late stage buyer, so it doesn't really apply to me.

  • From what we know, carpets tend to create static electricity when rubbed, which might happen in situations where it is tread upon, which causes it to get charged. We also know, that since the materials used for carpets are bad conductors of electricity, having them stapled at only certain points won't cause a significant grounding effect.

Now to design socks that use said static charge to electrocute the wearer hold onto the carpet better, reducing slippage.

  • In a flight of stairs, if even one step is off 1/8 of an inch or 3mm, it can cause someone to trip.

I like running up stairs. Specially when there are a lot of them.

When I enter a new building, I go slowly, getting a feel of each rise. If it turns out to be not runnable, I then walk the same way all the time. Otherwise, I get to have fun, starting the next time.

That 1 off-step would make me hate whomever worked on that stair. That would increase by the amount of time I would have planned on staying at that place.

  • etalon
    /ˈɛtəlɒn/
    noun Physics
    noun: etalon; plural noun: etalons

a device consisting of two reflecting glass plates, employed for measuring small differences in the wavelength of light using the interference it produces.

I don't see how that word makes sense in that phrase

  • But cars in our world tend to be much tamer.
What model did the car companies use to get that result?

    Ah! Nevermind.

Of course they used the Anger model to make a Tractor, which then turned into a Lamborghini post kicking.

  • Hjkl are superior to arrow keys once you get used to them.

I disagree with this point. I am able to use them quite functionally and I still want my arrow keys, because they are arrow keys. Also, you can use them without exiting INSERT mode.

I do however, agree with your last point.^[I agree with the fact that you disagree with me. Nothing else.]

Oh, and I also don't like the pseudo ergonomics of mechanical keyboards.
All they do is make it harder to use with a more relaxed hand position.

  • Yeah, same as crafts-people now.
Assembly lines increased minimum quality while reducing the maximum quality and caused a scarcity of people learning to make stuff themselves.

So now the people that do, get paid more per amount of work. IDK how much work they get though.
