  • Wow! It's even got a backstory and all.
Doesn't make the product more appealing though. The only thing that does that for me is the Datasheets.

  • I'm adding this to my Debian wall

  • I like to think of myself as a big spider in a room with small spiders.
They get the edges and corners and I get the center.

Occasionally, I go around clearing the old webs, so that new spiders can come and make new webs and catch some mosquitoes.
If a spider invades my bed/kitchen/computer, I get rid of it.

Ants are pretty annoying, but are useful too.
They let me know if I dropped some foodstuff and didn't clean it properly, by banding around it.
So I can just go and clean it and the ants stop coming.

  • It's not .
Most of them will just go outside due to their territorial nature.

  • This is me. Also that is a cupboard, not inside the bathroom.

  • Thankfully, I'm not on Windows.
But the switch is only to make sure it is off. Of course I poweroff before that.

    ...

    Trust me! I really do!

  • Hello there REISUBber!

  • I just press the power button/switch on the UPS/PSU/wall.

  • I fundamental thing that makes FOSS better is not the product that exists, but that, when you see a problem, you have the option to think, "let's see how to fix it".

Now I have used MS Excel for most of my life, up until University end, and only recently started using LibreOffice Calc instead.

And despite me telling all my colleagues how much better the new versions of LibreOffice fresh are, I know very well that there are still some glaring problems in these programs even in general use.

However, I had experienced some problems in MS Office too and back then all I could do was feel powerless for a few seconds and then either find some workarounds or ignore the problem, depending upon what it was.

In case of LibreOffice, I can make a note of the problem and plan to report a bug and maybe even help fix it, which leaves me on a +ive note at the end of the day.

    Digression: Problems with LibreOffice:

    • Calc: Using click+drag on the vertical scrollbar in case of even as low as 800 records, causes lags during the scrolling.
    • Writer: Images cause slowdown. This has been a major issue for a long time and you can probably find some discussions related to this, floating around.

  • On my Android phone the Android phone I have, I find it hard to tell where the stuff I downloaded is.
Until I connect it to the computer and see the directory structure easily.

The Files app seems to be trying to do some kind of Abstraction over here.

That only happens if you are fixated on installing the software without connecting to the internet.

  • I'll go with, if you are browsing an Anime related channel, then that's not to be NSFW'd.
When x-Posting, it would be NSFW.

But I don't use Lemmy or social media at the workplace anyway, so what would I know

  • For now, I have just saved it in my clipboard application, so I copy-paste.
When it goes out of history, I just open a file, where I have saved it and copy from there. So it's pretty crude.

I was hoping that either the KDE Social web interface would add a "Signature" feature or I would pick some Lemmy application that would allow that, but for now it's just this.

Perhaps, if I feel like it's being too frequent, I may set a compose key for it.

  • Not every. The quick, very-low effort ones, I just leave.

    Why:
I saw another post with "Anti Commercial AI License", then wen on to read the license and went, "Neat!".

    • It makes it easier for anyone to decide what to do if they want to use my comment/post (in cases where it actually has something useful)
    • It makes life just a bit harder for people data-mining for AI
      • That way, some data entry worker will probably ask for a raise and probably even get it and maybe some entrepreneur going "AI everywhere!" will think twice.
      • Or there will be a chatbot spouting "Anti Commercial AI License" or "CC By-NC-SA" in their answer text, which would be hilarious.

  • I feel like I am going to have to do the same thing in the end, to get my hand-over accepted.
Should I just copy the line of code and make a comment next to it with:

     c++

    // It does <paste line of code>
