I agree with you totally. There are more factors in gender than just body image or genetics alone. Also I wonder - what happens if you're a girl in western society, but you don't like the color pink? When you go to Toys 'R Us, doesn't it feel weird that all the girls toys are pink and in pink boxes - but you don't see boys toys in blue boxes or just with one predominant color.
(That's appropo of nothing, just something I've been wondering about for awhile).
That's true in Salt lake also, constantly tailgated even though I go about 5 miles faster than the speed limit. I realize to a Utahn that's intolerably slow, but what really is irksome is that they are too stupid to understand the peril of tailgating someone like me, who is prone to slamming on the brakes just to see if they go flying through their own windshield.
As soon as they started putting TRAX (our public train transport) into place, my prediction was Utahns would be too dumb to get out of the way of the trains. And every day there's another story about a person who got run down by a Trax train because they ignored the warning lights or just didn't look to see if a train was barreling down on them.
But you're more lucky than I, I don't think I've ever seen a 'good' driver anywhere in Utah.
What was the question, "where is America going to wind up?" Because that also can only be answered with "nowhere." Revolution won't change anything. Yes more undeserving people will die, but eventually all the greedy animals will run the farm again and the rest of the animals will slave their lives away for it. There is no other outcome for humanity and never has been.
Actually what he should have said is, "Winners are taught to concede when they lose." Because that's how it works on sports teams and in real life; you don't throw a tantrum and act out violently when you lose, you concede graciously and try harder to do better next time.
And because he isn't capable of that kind of humanity, trump truly is a loser in all possible meanings of the word. Also, he's really just a bag of orangutan farts in a suit with bad hair. His picture should be next to the word "loser" in every dictionary.
If the girl looked that way at a passing guy, the boyfriend would beat the living shit out of her right there on the street and nobody would care. Tell me again how men and women have equal rights and status in today's world. Truly, nothing has changed for the better at all, anywhere.
I'm still appalled that people say "that's gay" as an insult and ultimate put down. I know it goes on constantly -we're still that far from being human to each other.
It makes me think of that too. But, it's actually more like a rich hearty kind of stew, and it's very tasty (doesn't have cheese in it though). My mom makes it frequently in the winter and I prefer it to traditional beef stew.
In Utah people try to bypass the warning lights and get killed by trains every day here. Some people try to 'drive around' the oncoming train if you can believe that. Yes, Utahns really are that stupid.
I'd love to go to that kind of party, where rainbow cake is served along with a slice of anthropological oration. But even though I'm gay (and therefore supposed to accept every odd idea that comes along, apparently), I'm not sure gender is a "social construct" alone. There are so many other things that can play into it including hormones and body image and psychological stuff - yet I still feel it was so much easier and breezier when we could just call ourselves men or women or he or she. (not that I'm against people calling themselves whatever else they want).
Speaking of, has anyone here tried Hamburger soup? It's like beef stew except with ground beef, red wine, tomatoes and potatoes and it's very rich and hearty also.
Mmmm mmmm that does look good. I've tried to make beef stew but it always comes out like beef soup with too much sweetness (probably the wine). But you can't beat a bowl of good stew with bread on a cold day.
It was cool to see it here in Salt lake. "Body works" is what it was called and it was amazing. To see all the individual parts of a human body laid out, to see how thick layers of fat are between the skin and muscle, and to see a plastinated heart and esophagus and diaphram and all that. It was quite amazing.
I've heard that about you. Isn't it also a certified historic site?
