  • Utah sucks monkey shit. It's the worst place in the world to live, and I've lived in third world countries with open trenches for sewers. Utah stinks to heaven above, and is the #1 spot for corruption and legislative stupidity in the entire world.

Utah stinks, and so do all the baboons in charge here. And once I live, I will slam that door and NEVER look back, Utah can sink back into the sewage of salty brine it rose out of for all I care.

  • That doesn't bother me, I know when I've being downvoted it's because I've said something truthful that people dont want to hear. If all I wanted was being upvoted, that would pretty much defeat the whole purpose of being on social media. I certainly don't come here for the "approval" stamp.

There is still crippling socioeconomic inequality, but there has been ever since I've been alive and I'm almost 65 now. And there's always been dissatisfaction over it, and large contingents of people unwilling to accept any positive news of the economy because they have gripes about some parts of it.

  • Nigeria is not my idea of a well educated country anyway - and their very deleterious and harmful view of human sexuality is no doubt skewed by years of intervening stupid "christian" missionary shit being shoveled at them.

And that religious leader (who obviously is about as bright as a toothpick) is wrong. IT IS ADAM AND EVE, AND ADAM AND STEVE, AND ADAM AND EVE AND STEVE AND GENEVIEVE. According to the bible, the "lord god" made them ALL.

Conservative think tanks are nothing but excremtental "Its" that stink excuses. We have a particularly vile and nasty one here in Utah called "the Eagle forum." And everyday their ultra conservative and embarrassingly under-educated members are on TV spouting off about the harms of sex education and of teaching kids anything other than white nationalist history.

THIS is the cesspool that America and the world has become. These are the nitwits and nutjobs who get heard, not the people who really have intelligence and compassion and understanding and smarts.

  • So my question here is, how does a criminal gang groom someone into being dumb. Because nobody is looking at the other side of the equation here - what causes these (moronic) teen girls to get caught up in whatever web these idiot criminals are weaving for them. Why does this keep happening?

In Utah alone we hear of these stories every day now, someone's nitwit teenage dumbass daughter falls for some older guy on social media, then agrees to meet them at some clandestine place at an hour when nobody else is awake, and then VIOLA that daughter disappears and is never heard from again, or until the chunks of what's left of her are discovered in a suitcase on the side of the road somewhere.

Yes, I'm actually placing part of the blame for this on the parents and the kid. It isn't the fact that Instagram exists that caused this to happen. It's the fact that their daughter put herself into harms way willingly. We need to be following up on THAT part of the equation - why girls keep doing this and falling victim to these traps. And don't sell my BS that they can't "help themselves." They most certainly can, but they instead make themselves easy targets.

  • Sometimes being outlaws is the only decent and moral thing to be. If the government of their small nitwit idiot nation considers them outlaws for being great parents, then so be it. Be the best and most IN YOUR FACE goddamned outlaws you can possible be. Italy is known for bigotry and stupidity, but baring same-sex couples from adopting children is an evil dark ages mentality that smacks of febrile mental inbred retardation.

  • Actually ("ECKKTUALLY?") inflation has come down in a big way in most areas. Food is still high, but gas and other commodities have seen huge drops. The job market is strong and the stock market is more robust than it ever has been. But people tend to overlook those things when they aren't getting more money into their wallets....naturally.

  • Americans "have become saddled" with credit card debt? Excuse me being a lecturing boomer, but that makes it sound like credit cards attacked them and forced them to have more debt. Americans make a choice to use credit cards and go into debt, and that is how credit card companies make their money but - you aren't forced to become "saddled" with them. It's your own bad habits that make you go into debt.

While I'm on my soapbox (and opening myself up for nasty retaliatory responses), I was in a game store not long ago to trade some games in, and there were several young guys in front of me. Each one wearing tattered clothes and looking like they hadn't eaten in weeks. All of them buying new PS5s on their credit cards.

I'm not saying it's not okay to indulge, and I'm not saying I know these people's life stories. Maybe they can easily afford the payments and won't get behind - but it's a hard lesson to learn, to go into debt without the ability to keep up and pay it back. You young credit card considereres - beware. It's a trap to think you will somehow magically be able to pay these debts off, and it can ruin your credit history for good.

  • They were off duty but working at a local business at 2 a.m. I assume they had second jobs as bartenders? Anyway - if they opened fire on these men there might be a good reason why. We'd have to have more details to know and see the video for ourselves.

  • But were her kids kicked out for being homeless or were they kicked out for being obnoxious disturbances? The title makes it seem like her kids are being kicked out of school for being homeless. And why was she evicted from her residence?

  • Part of it is timing and the market also -- back in the day my parents and grandparents had a "stock market" meeting where they'd decide what companies to put their money into - they went with IBM and a little known publishing firm called "Marvel." Both were fledgling organizations back then.

So, now I'm in my parents' estate and I was able to retire early (really I didn't need to work, but I liked my job) and I see how high home prices are for the U.S. now and wonder how new families are ever going to be able to continue to live and find housing in this country.

  • This is heartening in some ways, at least it's good news for certain people in that area of the U.S. Here in Utah, tenants have NO rights, and they are told that whenever they sign a lease. There are no options for tenants to retalitate against anything a landlord decides to do.

Of course, almost 100% of our "esteemed" legislatures here are landlords, so they are the one who pass the laws. And in Utah, a landlord is allowed to enter your premises and abscond with any item of furniture or equipment they so desire (if they want your stereo, it's theirs) and there is nothing a tenant can do. Tenants aren't even allowed by law to contact a landlord's place of business, under penalty of fines and jail sentences.

Our legislatures are strengthening landlord laws this session, so things will only get worse and worse for renters here.

  • I hope they succeed in stripping these laws away. People who suffer from chronic pain conditions have been tortured needlessly by not having access to these medications. No other medication has been able to step in and fill the void. All because many people abused the drugs and didn't follow the prescribed dosages. I don't blame the manufacturers for that at all.

Blaming opioids for opioid addiction is like blaming social media for people being dumb enough to hurt themselves over other people's opinions. It isn't the product at fault, it's the people who don't use it right and abuse it. And I realize this point of view is extreme for some, but it's true that the if you blame the product, you only solve a small part of the problem. And create other problems in the meantime.

  • The staff and fellow incarcerated nutjobs that would persecute a person for being trans are all small brained gits who deserve to be where they are in life. They only harrass trans people because they want everyone to feel as bad about themselves as they do.

So I'm glad that this class action lawsuit is happening, I hope the guards involved not only lose their jobs but are sent to prison for life. And I hope they are never able to leave prison. They are dangerous bigots, without any morals or ethics.

  • It's true that the right wing nutjobbery has been copy pasted all over the place, many countries I once respected and considered visting are now dungheaps in my view. America has failed, that much is clear - the American experiment is over. My family is leaving, we've decided to go to a south American country where cost of living is easier and we can watch America die from a distance.

  • In our small-brained baboon-butt red state of Utah, the "esteemed" legislatures just passed a bill making it illegal for trans people to use public bathrooms. I guess that means trans people can shit wherever they want to in public.

This kind of nutjob small brained bigotry is ruining our country and embarrasssing us gloablly. Other countries see these anti-human laws and realize we're crumbling and don't really stand behind our American "values" or our consitution.
