Lord knows, I think this PC was made from rocks and twigs 2000 years ago. It's still running Windows 7 (I mean - windows 7!! What is this, 1824???) Anyway - I have a newer PC but for some reason, it won't connect to the internet (!) and this one will, but won't run anything like steam or any other applications. I'm living in the prehistoric ages, man.
I saw Youtube videos of a guy whose job is to jack off horses - literally, to collect the sperm for insemination female horses. I wonder how the horse feels about all that.
It seems like no matter what I type, pictures of boobs come up anyway. Looking for a great deal on barbecue grills? OK but first, here look at some boobs. Looking for a particular book? We're sure you meant "searching for boobs." I wonder what happens if you type in boobs, you get pictures of books on barbecue grills?
Yeah it's always the same. In Utah this past week, the passed a law to disallow trans people from using public bathrooms. I mean,t here's probably TWO trans people in the whole state. Now, one of the women on our Board of Education is in trouble for harrassing a student over possibly being trans (the student isn't trans, she just thought she might be).
What the FUCK is the problem? I've never seen trans people be a threat to ANYBODY ANYWHERE - yet, white moronic privileged idiots are threatening all of us with blocking all of our basic rights to exist. It seems to me the real threat to humanity is wherever bigoted white people gather together.
If you think about, we "humans" are about as strange as creatures can get. We breathe oxygen, which is a corrosive gas. Metal exposed to oxygen starts to rust. Some common foods we eat like apples contain arsenic and other poisonous substances. By the time we're adults, we have more foreign microbes living in our bodies than human cells. We're pretty scary as a species all right. To other alien life out there, we're probably going to seem like extremely mutant freaks.
Still - I wish I had a room full of gold coins so I could build a diving board right over it and dive into it, and break most my bones and teeth when I land and, like Peter Griffin, I realize it's a great pile of solid metal not a soft liquid. I'd laugh while my teeth fell out. That would be so hilarious!
It's like my nephews who are continually grouchy and complaining but they stay up until 4 and 5 in the morning playing video games. Their parents do not have any rules about when or if they should be in bed. I just want to tell them, when you're my age, you'll wish you'd taken more advantage of sleep time because I can hardly sleep more than four or five hours now, and I envy anyone who gets a full night's sleep.
My nephews are older now but still stay up all night playing computer games in their parents' basement. They've never married, but one did have a job back when he was a teenager but it didnt' last long. Their whole existence is playing games on the computer.
I wish I had access to Steam - it won't run in my PC, yet it has all these amazing casual games I want to try!! : ( But I would never buy DLC for a game that hadn't been (and might never be) released yet.
I've been a gamer since the first Atari system came out (I was about 17 at the time). I've had almost every console since then - and you know what? I still want to throw my controller against the wall at some point in every game.
I realize that in all my years of gaming, there have been MAYBE three or four games i actually had a good time playing. And I don't even play very hard games, I try to avoid them - but from the beginning, most games seem designed to baffle and/or frustrate the player at some point. Don't even get me started on how platform games ate a hole through my stomach lining.
Yeah, if you could go ahead and give me your access code to the copier, that'd be great. The economy is not in that bad of shape, people. In fact, in our "esteemed"local paper and in Time and USA Today they keep writing articles about how strong the economy actually is. It depends. In some ways it's stronger (more jobs and better pay, less unemployment) but in some ways it SEEMS much worse. But we're all actually better off than we were a few years ago. (Understanding that inflation is still going to be a thing).
It's true though. It WILL happen to you. I've been around long enough to see the full cycle over and over. In the 60s when I was kid, everyone was with "it," now we're all old f@rts who think those very same 60s values are weird and scary - peace? love? wokefulness? IT'S too horrible to think about!
That's a very apt description of me. I'm a grown up child of a man, and that's how I've always been. I have the 10 year old mentality but I'm actually five decades beyond that and I still act and even look like a younger man. Maybe it's the bacon and eggs.
I had the very bad judgment to suggest (on Reddit) that people would be better off in a more progressive, forward-leaning society. That was enough to get me banned permanently.
Mine are: treat others as you want to be treated, and have respect for other people's opinions. But those seem to go right out the window when I'm on this forum.
Depends on which restaurant and what bread they bring out. Sometimes the bread is not very good, but if it's fresh and hot and soft, yeah, I'll gorge myself with it and then wonder why I ordered so much food besides.
Remember when they used to have really GOOD breadsticks at restaurants? Sometimes they were hard and crunchy and sometimes soft but they used to be so much better, not like the overly garlicky puffy breadstick stuff you get now.
See? I knew I was out of touch with what "it" is.
