  • And that's fine if it works for you, but I hate to say it (and it won't matter anyway) but - there really is not a god of any kind at all. Even if I wanted to believe in one, I now know for certain there isn't any such thing, at least not by the definition humans use for what a 'god' is.

The bible is real, it's a real book - a work of fiction, but a real book. It has some interesting passages in it, but I don't consider it any more "real" than the book the Wizard of Oz or any other work of fiction.

  • I love that, at least there's a few of us good weirdoes in the world on the far far left.

In Utah the so called "christians" (i.e. hypocritical monsters) are trying their best to eradicate LGBTQ completely, pulling all books that mention such an "abomination" off school shelves, and now disallowing any mention of such things in public.

So I wrote to the legislatures asking them to come clean and admit the reason they don't care that Utah has the highest teen suicide rate in the nation is because so many of the teens who commit suicide are LGBTQ.

Of course they never responded, and the silence was deafening. I obviously said something truthful.

I'm a Taurus, so I fiercely protect everyone I care about, to the point of hurting others in any way I have to. And often the truth does hurt them and expose them for who these monsters really are.

  • I'm an atheist myself and can't dispute that I'm a weird person, but I have my reasons for my beliefs that are just as sound as anyone's reasons for being religious. Moreso, because I've seen what is out there, and I know (more than anyone else) that there is no such thing as 'God' at all. And there doesn't need to be. But, to each his own.

  • You're going to find that true almost anywhere online nowadays. I got sick on my birthday last year, and i posted on facebook that I hated being sick on my birthday. So facebook banned me for posting "hate speech." (I'm not even kidding).

And I got banned from Reddit for suggesting that younger generations are more progressive in their views. THAT was apparently the wrong thing to say. I'm not sure why it was so controversial - but it sure pressed someone's button.

  • I totally get that and don't get me wrong, I'm all for freedom of reproductive choice to the max. I'm so far left and liberal, I actually scare people who are liberal and find my ideas even too radical for them. I agree that the "crusty old bastards" are so removed from the reality of what women go through that they are the LAST people who should be making laws about their bodies.

And I totally agree that the IVF debate seems like more Christian nonsense and stupidity, which is why I simply can't give them any kind of victory here. They are not just cunts, they're abysmal monsters that should be wiped off the earth, in my view.

And you're right, the real issue is these conservative twits want to take over the world and control everyone and everything. And that's something I just won't let them have. I refuse to be riled up into a froth over this IVF debacle, because it's such a ridiculous ruling in the first place.

But dont' get wrong, I totally feel horrible for the women affected by it. And I stand by them no matter what. And if it means illegal IFV has to happen, I would totally support that. Like you, I'm a pisser into the Cheerios bowl of the christian right wing every chance I can get!!

I recent sent a scathing letter about Utah's hateful anti-trans bills this session, and the paper nearly refused to publish it - but surprisingly, they finally did. And it caused a lot of conservative bigotry to come out in the open. And I love getting under their skin!!!

  • So what. Only the most worthless shitheads would let this law dictate to them how they're going to perform marriages. The good officials won't let it corrupt them. And as someone who's performed gay marriages since the 80s when it wasn't "legal," I believe it doesn't matter what law they pass about it. There are many ways around unjust and corrupt laws such as this one, and it won't stop gay people from getting married no matter what. In fact it will probably bring more gay couples out of the woodwork.

  • I'm gay and I've lived in SLC for almost 65 years, and let me tell you - gay people are among the MOST bigoted. They think they are very accepting, but the truth is, most of them reject anyone who doesn't fit their idea about what a gay male should be. If you look like a twink or you aren't a certain way, you get shunned here completely. It's really nasty to see.

But, the truth is, all human beings are bigoted. We have to be, we're wired up that way. We are wired to want to only hang out with certain people and reject others, and see other people as inferior in almost every situation. It's sort of a survival mechanism from primitive days, and it's part of who we are as a species.

  • Yeah I wouldn't live in Alabama or Kentucky or Texas if I were paid to. I already have it bad enough living in baboon-ass red UTAH. I hate it here, but I'm a caretaker for an elderly parent and forced to live here at the moment. Still - I do what I can to annoy the legislative body.

I keep writing very acid letters to the editor about the idiots who run our state and the conservitard shitheads who believe their religious nutjobbery supercedes everyone else's right to exist.

What I don't get though, is why should I be riled up about this "embryos are children" thing. I mean, the media is making it sound like we on the left and liberal side of things should be outraged. But i'm not at all. The whole reason I'm so pro-abortion is that I believe people shouldnt' have as many kids as they do, especiallyy here in Utah were child abuse is the #1 hobby.

So IVF becomes even more restrictive. Frankly, that aligns perfectly with my goals and ideals. I do feel bad for people really wanting IVF, but if it means LESS kids in the world, I can't be unhappy about it.

  • I live in baboon-butt red UTAH where they're trying to eradicate gays from existence as much as possible. So whenever I'm out in public, I make sure I loudly state something about how attracted I am to the other men in the room. I love getting under people's skin. And I love pissing off the conservitard monsters who are ruining this country - it gives me great happiness to be able to do so.

  • This conflict has been raging since I was a child back in 1959. It has never ended, and it never will end until nuclear war wipes every human off the face of the earth. Given that the only things humans are good at are fucking and going to war, it will be a good riddance to bad rubbish.

  • In the U.S. (well at least in Utah were I live) it's the law that you must stop and render aid when an accident occurs in front of you. Even if everyone is OK. I've been driving in Utah for 52 years, and seen many accidents on the road, and nobody here ever stops and helps. I think I'm the only one who actually has ever pulled over and helped at an accident scene, to get the drivers off the road.

But that's also dangerous, because people getting out of their cars even after an accident here, are very often hit and killed by other drivers. In Utah, nobody stops for anyone or anything in their way, under any circumstances.

  • Untrue, I really am against war and warfare in every case, including this one which is as always the result of egotistical male shitheads trying to out-penis size each other with their weaponry. And I'd rather such an event NEVER occurred in human history. But it has, and with Russia now gaining so many despicable victories, it should be obvious that we must help Ukraine defeat them anyway we can.

I'm not OK with any of it, but I have to face the reality that it is what it is.

  • It's interesting that in both the U.K. and the U.S. these anti-social media campaigns are being fueled by ADULT phobias and fears, and not being based on what kids want or are saying they are experiencing online. I get why parents are fearful of kids being exposed to certain things (though I think often their fears are not logical) - but I don't get why nobody NOBODY has bothered to ask kids if THEY feel they need protection from social media.

I mean if the whole thing is about what kids are experiencing - shouldn't you be talking to the kids to find out what they think? And if they feel abused or hurt by what's happening online? Or if they feel at risk, and if so, why?

In Utah (where I am) they've tried banning kids under 16 from having any social media access, and truly it's because Utah's republican legislatures are scared of everything that comes with technology and progress. They want us to return to the dark ages where people have to bow down and obey what those above them tell them to do.

I'm not saying that's the only thing behind all of this, or that social media isn't sometimes harmful in certain ways -- but to enact bans based solely on personal prejudices without even consulting the groups most affected is absolutely insane, in my view.

  • You can thank a growing class of ignorant selfish brats for the growing trend of once-eradicated diseases now coming back into the public arena. Like the recent measles outbreak that is claiming the lives of kids globally - parents too selfish and stupid to get their kids the very basic vaccinations that they require.

Personally I think it's monstrous that people would ever abuse their kids just to make some kind of asinine and misguided political point. The world can't afford to have people around who are that callous, selfish, irresponsible, and unable to care about anything beyond their own noses.

  • It is because I've paid attention for 70 years to what democrats do vs. republicans that I am and always will be utterly loyal in every way to the Democratic party. They will not lose this time around, that's one thing I can promise - a blue wave is about to sweep over this country from one corner to the other. And even if that doesn't happen, I believe being a democrat that I never lose at all.

But, that's just me and how I see things. I get where you are coming from in regard to the problems with labour and class inequities in the UK.
