  • Autoplaying gifs are in fact small sized webp files that Lemmy natively supports.

But I agree that a inline video / gif viewer is mainly the last big thing I want in a Lemmy client. It's a burden having to tap to open them without any preview

  • Nobody stopped talking about it.

Its that the channels that we watch news on have now been fragmented / specialized to the point where we can "watch the news" and only get right wing propaganda.

  • Completely agree. It's a big meta fuck you to the movie industry.

  • Depends of the computer, but Kodi uses quite a bit of ressources, depending on the content of course

  • I swear some Lemmy users are worse than that overly attached gf meme.

Get off Reddit and stop talking about reddit.

  • It is not. It has been discussed countless times already. The trackers are from the external sites youre visiting through Connect.

There's nothing connect can do about the trackers from the articles you're visiting using Connect.

If you're worried about trackers, you can force connect to open sites using an xternal browser that has tracker blockers features.

  • It's really a miracle software.

  • Sorry my bad, I should have read your entire post.

What I would suggest though is to log in on the web interface and select every language (including "undertermined"), if you haven't tried already. I'm pretty sure that's what I did.

Be sure to log out / in in Connect afterwards

  • I'm pretty sure this is a instance -level issue

Have you checked your settings when logged in on the web interface? Be sure to select "undefined" as well as "English" (and others that might interest you)

  • It has been fixed in v0.97

  • That's unfortunate in some ways, thats also what's preventing instances from being overloaded with useless traffic.

The more users your instance gets, the more new communities will be discovered and shown in the instance.

  • I hate Reddit like everyone else, but to be fair it's always been that way.

  • Connect is at a stage where it could rival those now defunct mature 3PA Reddit apps

  • If you sort by New on /r/place people are asking who is Spez.

    This is appalling

  • I can understand the flak they're having, but honestly Nova is the first thing I install on all my Android devices. Its so convenient and versatile

  • Yeah could be a performance / memory issue. My s10+ works fine but my s7fe crashes
