  • I enjoyed Madness Returns but the main problem was that some of the chapters just dragged so much. If they’d cut it down they could have made a really really good budget game and nothing of value would have been lost. It’s a 14 hour game with 6 hours of content.

  • To be honest, I’ve had a Twitter account for years but didn’t really use it. I would only go on Twitter once every few months. Since everyone’s talking about it now because of Musk I think about it more and use it a little more. Maybe once a week. I wonder if the lost users are being replaced by people like me.

  • How does that work for businesses and investments? In the UK I don’t have to do anything for taxes with my job, but if the investments in a rental property, or something like that, are over £4000 I have to do the forms.

  • He later told BBC Newsnight that the officers had questioned his wife on why he had travelled to the Palestinian territory, who paid for his ticket and which charity he was helping.

A spokesperson for the Met said: “On 16 October, police officers responding to a report that a man was planning to travel to a war zone attended an address in north London where they spoke with one of the occupants.

“Having identified that the man had left the UK for humanitarian purposes, the officers signposted the occupant to current FCDO advice.”

How is that harassment or an attempt to silence them?

  • I already go to ChatGPT more than Google. If you pay for it then the latest version can access the internet and if it doesn’t know the answer to something it’ll search the internet for you. Sometimes I come across a large clickbait page and I just give ChatGPT the link and tell it to get the information from it for me.

  • Nobody should be talking about building on the greenbelt, that’s the point of the greenbelt. Where I used to live in London the council was constantly trying to get permission to build on the greenbelt when 500m away there was a huge plot of dilapidated concrete, I guess where there used to be a factory or something. But they were constantly talking about the greenbelt.

  • I remember when new iPhone releases would make headlines and people would crowd around computers to watch the live announcements. I remember sneaking out of work early once so I could be home in time to watch it with my housemates. Nowadays they’re so boring they barely get mentioned.

  • The government’s cancelled the bit about scanning messages. That shouldn’t surprise anyone. The coffin dodgers floating around those halls keep proposing this stuff based on tech they don’t understand, then it always get stopped eventually.

  • We cancelled. We got Disney Plus and we share my brother’s Amazon Prime and I realised that we hadn’t used Netflix in over a month. We’d opened it a few times and browsed for while before switching to another service.

Netflix is absolutely awful now, we would just spend an hour browsing just trying to find something tolerable. The last thing that was good was Squid Games, and that was only good not great.

Tiger King was fucking mint though.

  • This is never going to pass. It’s got so many hurdles to jump at this point and similar bills have never gotten any traction. There’s nobody screaming for this and it’s just been dreamt up by old Tories who don’t understand technology. I think I read it’s just been opened up for eight weeks of consultation and on day one somebody will explain to them that child abusers don’t use messaging systems that can be cracked by the government and they’ll find a way around it. No matter what they do they’ll never stop people just VPNing out if the country and away from these laws.
