A train wagon easily weights 20 tonnes and more. If it goes just at 50 kph, it has an impulse of 278.000 kg*m/s. Respectively 278.000 Ns. According to some googling human bones tend to break at around a force of 4.000 N.
Realistically the train is just going to flatten whatever flesh and bones are between the wheel and tracks.
I did sports semi professionally at some point. The people in my club who did so professionally were already fucked bad enough, with the anti doping agents having to know where they were at all times.
Imagine on top having very sensitive information from your medical records public. Imagine you are dropped out of the most prestigous top athlete bracket, because your body fat ratio increased half a percent too much after you had an injury.
Also imagine at say the swimming world cup there isnt just 2 dozen different competitions already seperated into men and women, but with another 4 subsections. These things also mean that the attention to the sports have to be spread among more people and outside of the popular sports that will drop many people out of attention and money spent on the sport.
Shouldn't it be the exact opposite way for this wheel? From the closeness to the wall this should be the left rear wheel of the car. In order to prevent the bolts from unscrewing them self they should be a left thread on the left side of the car.
the left pedal of a bycycle also has a left thread instead of a right thread to avoid that from happening.
So how do you want to do it? I cannot see it as particularly inviting that athletes are grouped by body fat ratio, or needing an extensive medical analysis on how their metabolism performs.
can you add fractions?
If you dont have professional sports, you end up with sports being dominated by rich kids, who can afford to not work and fully focus on the sports, while other athletes have to work full time still.
Sports are an entertainment for many people, and why should actors, musicians, comedians and other entertainers make a living, but athletes shouldn't, even though they have to put in the same effort and time?
Well it is more complicated than that. After puberty female bodies usually have more fat and less muscle mass, than similiarly trained male bodies. Also the metabolism and "energy management" of male bodies is more advantageous for most sports. Note of course that these are also spectrums, and women who train well outcompete men who don't.
So it does make sense to group athletes by gender too. But like somebody else said in this thread, there is no factual reason, why gender should be the only or the main grouping criteria.
Because Unions pay strike assistance.
For example UAW pay 100$/day https://uaw.org/strike-faq/
This way all members can participate in a strike and give it the necessary strength to achieve something. Still most Union fees are ridiciously low. Usually they are in the area of 1,5% of your salary.
This is not the engineers fault though.
It is highly political projects, politicians offloaded their old friends and competitiors onto the boeards and other functions and in the case of the airport major planning was undertaken by a guy who is a technical drawer and not an engineer.
Most of these fuck ups could have been prevent, if the project management was done by project managers with an engineering background and if the owners side would have been represented by peoplewith a technical backgrounds.
Source: i have worked in civil engineering for public projects. We wasted 50% of the time explaining Politicians and MBA bros C-levels why they can't start by building the roof and why replanning half the stuff is a bad idea, when we are already on the market with bids for contractors.
Kirbys Dreamland
I remember being addicted to the first one until i managed the hard mdoe w.o. dying once. With that i find SML to also have great replay value.
still are imo.
Its not "the group".If you look in left and right wing violence in most countries you'll see a huge disparity, even after the right wing police has significantly biased the statistics. Most people in Antifa groups just go to demos, organize workshops and put political stickers up.
Thats alle the stuff Fox wants to villify, because they want people to be fascists.
just open it then.
For "us" e.g. the users of the federated platforms i'd prefer the smaller, nicer and more qualitative community we have currently.
For the users of reddit there is the ones that also want this experience (again) and i am confident they'll find their way eventually.
For the users of reddit that just want the quick meme/outrage video and farm karma on the ever same joke-chains, i think they are in the better spot for themselves than it would become if they'd clash here with the different culture.
For society as a whole i think enshittification is necessary to drive people off of platforms eventually. I wholeheartedly agree, that the enshittified web needs to go down, but it can only come from people realizing it for themselves.
I am looking forward to the hilarity of it for a while though.
"Cooking bot, i have found this cucumber i need to use before it gets bad. What can i do with it?"
"Shove it up your rectum"
Could lead to a lot of interesting lawsuits and let a lot of MBA bros look rather stupid.
To make it even crazier, you could have a roof that is transparent and you could open. Tada you get as much outdoor as you want, without being soaked wet by the thunderstorm.
I mean they could end VBA support and disable makros alltogether. Problem is that many companies have a bunch of excel sheets, with poorly crafted VBA code from 20 years ago, that runs crucial company functions. So they probably have to announce it ten years before and make very big, very loud, very strong marketing, so all the execs in the world realise that yes they need to migrate to dedicated software instead.
Facility management nowadays is outsourced to third party agencies. Usually the pay and working times are shit and they are consistently understaffed. At the same time they usually get access to most regular offices and they work before or after the offices fill.
For a more concerted effort finding out which companies clean at which offices and enrolling there is not much of a thing. And voila you get access to all physical computers, can plant key loggers or other tools, or just malicious USB Sticks or similiar on the site.
Not in the context of IT security, but for instance in Berlin Germany a group of robbers that stole the 100 kg gold maple leaf coin, hired someone a few month earlier with the security guard agency of the museum it was presented at.
With that it also lacks sensibilization, as to why it is such an integral issue.
At my workplace we had it become part of a mandatory once a year presentation on all sorts of security issues. So you get a 3 hour presentation, about how to use a ladder, when not to use electrical appliances, what to do in case of fire, how to behave if the police shows up... and in there is also something about IT security.
The thing is, that it is also important to know what to do if there is a fire, or how not to fall from your turning chair and breaking your neck, because the way to the ladder was too far.
So what we do need, is regular testing and interaction with these issues to build routine. But more importantly we need a work environment, where people have the space and time to think before doing something, if this has any security risks worth paying attention to.
weigth classes are much more broader. Your weight does not tell more about how your body is constituted than can be seen from the outside already.
