For precise inputs keyboards are really good, stuff like tactical shooters, a lot of custom fighting game controllers are basically just paired down keyboards too.
Keyboards are pretty fucking cool, analog sticks are easy to use and good if you need the 360 degree movement, but otherwise keyboards all the way.
The spy is only more effective in casual because the average player is a roblox child.
Spy is also a niche pick in 6s because it's a niche character that is supposed to do a niche job, so it's not great to use it if that job isn't relevant.
Though, sniper is always a better pick provided you have a set of hands, even in casual.
Edit: not to mention that high player count and no class limits also just break the game generally. The only reason you don't get rolled by class stacking that often is that people don't feel like doing it or (more commonly) are too bad at the game.
