Probably not many people have tagged me, but it's funny that at least two of the people who have have done so purely on the basis of me using user notes.

Back on Reddit, I met someone who proclaimed themselves schizophrenic and said that they used user notes (on discord at the time) to handle associated memory issues. I'm not schizophrenic as far as I know, but it still seemed like a good idea, so I've tried to do so since.

Supposedly this was supposed to be a reference to his penis.

That never really made sense to me, but it was the style the prevailing theory at the time.

Well, given your username, I'm no longer sure whether I should allow my guts and food to interact.

I'm also curious whether you made a typo and were too stubborn to correct it, whether it was intentional, or whether I'm imagining the whole thing.

Honestly, I have so few people in my life that finding out one (or more) were a figment of imagination is a genuine phobia of mine. I've freaked out my wife by debating that there's no way I can be certain she's real. (Though the evidence does support it.)

Once I did almost this. I filled my car with gas on the way to work, tripped on the gas hose, shredded my pants, skinned my knee and got blood all over my white dress shirt. I hated it. Fortunately my then-boss was understanding.

I've recently bought a series of 24TB drives from both Amazon and Newegg. Each one I got was either DOA or shortly thereafter. I just gave up but I would love to have a better source.

I got it from Marvel's Toad. Specifically the novelization of the first X-Men movie. I didn't become aware of the tiles until well afterwards (and I'm not exactly sure whether they existed beforehand).

I've told this story on both Lemmy and Reddit beforehand, but just as a matter of interest ... I used to take the train to Philly, then walk to where I worked then. One day I took a different route, keeping my eyes down, and stumbled - almost literally - on the aforementioned tile. It was genuinely shocking to see my online username embedded in the ground.

I'm glad you got it sorted and your kid is doing well. They seem pretty damn resilient.

My kid is awesome (and yes, resilient, if terrified of bugs and a little traumatized by pet loss). So much personality. I was scared of being a parent but I'm happy I did because I'm so proud of them. Thank you for noticing.

Thanks! Why? Most people connect it with the Toynbee tiles (which are cool and interesting, but not where I got it), but most people who do so mention it in their comments. You didn't, which makes me curious.

You know what? If it ever gets to that point, perhaps I'll reconsider in the moment.
