old.reddit is literally the only thing that keeps me coming back. i hope they kill it. i'm sick of scrolling for ten minutes just to find a post worth clicking on. i've got netflix for shit like that.

fuck you! i got banned from about a dozen subreddits because i told someone on /r/conspiracy that they said something stupid.

why does it matter once you've been banned for saying something and they won't tell you why and you can't appeal the decision?

they're actively moving users OFF of their platform.

i thought there was something special about just making it that way and not making a point of it. it's just the way it is. that's just really cool to me.

i THINK i was trying to say that if shit hits the fan, nobody is going to care about all this shit. people are stirring up stupid shit because they're bored and ignored and undervalued and underestimated. brothers and sisters would quickly resolve thanksgiving dinner argument issues if they ever needed to actually kill and cook a turkey together.

edit - unless i'm mistaken, the rapture isn't actually a thing.

the addiction thing is crazy to me now, because i grew up with substances that were addictive. substances don't really change that much. but the idea of trying to defend against addictions to tech that's literally evolving to keep you addicted. i can't imagine what would happen to my alcohol recovery if they ever issued an "update" that de-buffs hangovers.

young people are being given a really bad deal right now. they're being intentionally uneducated, overstimulated, and constantly provoked for "engagement". it's horrifying to me when i try to put myself in their shoes.

you say "get back", so i don't necessarily feel awkward asking how old you are. so approx. old are you if you don't mind me asking? i'm an old guy now, and i'm always thinking about how young people are processing all of this information now. my gen was warned, but we definitely weren't ready for it. i can't imagine what it's like to be born in the midst of it all. but the kids are alright. of this i'm sure.
