  • i worked for city parks, they're an unorganized mess. managers get paid top dollar to bark orders while the minimum wage employees who actually do the cleaning are overworked. there are many neighborhoods where you can walk miles without seeing a trash can. on top of that, the geniuses who planned city design planted all male trees that shed foliage through the year

  • with my 10-year old laptop with Intel HD4000, I can run almost any GameCube or PS1-era game. XBox and PS2 run with limitations. 3DS and PSP also work great. the most I've pushed my laptop was Elite Dangerous on lowest settings. played for hundreds of hours but took many breaks since the laptop would overheat and crash

  • some towns hired people to wake the town for work, and someone else would be hired to wake them up. some societies studied the stars and moon to tell the time at night. and like others stated, there were candles, lanterns, and furnaces to tell how much time has passed. people were more in tune with their environment

  • since we're bringing up stats. overwhelming majority of homeless people, prisoners, war victims, work accidents, and suicide victims are men. i get that men are more prone to violence, however verbal abuse often goes underreported and many studies show women are much more likely to engage in verbal abuse. my point is, both genders have issues that all stem from the same underlying problems (capitalism, healthcare, education). the reason women are often portrayed as victims is because of our cultural and genetic history, mixed with a biased media that profits off of "damstrels in distress"
