  • Homer Simpson wrote The Odyssey. I didn't know about any other Homer πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

  • Her acting skills on the series were amazing! She was my main reason to start She-Hulk, but meh.

Not sure if it depends on the region, but AFAIK Orphan Black it's a Netflix original and it's not on their platform anymore. I found out because of a mexican series, Triada which is way to similar to focus on the bits that make this story original.

  • Does this mean you don't agree? I'm confused.

  • Correction: The service I referred to was renamed to Ober One.

Kinda. Basically you pay for occasional coupons and credits on UberEats, and a (5%) discount for every Uber ride.

For 70 MNX (~3.5 USD) a month there is no delivery fee on anything you order. It's obvious their business model is to charge an obscene fee to then roll out a "better" option. But hey, it's been convenient nonetheless.

I end up ordering from the same few places when I'm on my lowest, so their system usually gives me 100-200 MXN (5-10 USD) discounts on those specific restaurants. The subtotal almost never exceeds 600 MXN (30 USD).

Succinctly, it's not free free. It's a 5% discount on Uber rides, and a variable 15-30% discount for two orders a month.

  • This is a non-post, as it doesn't even bring its own analysis to the table. What are the valid concerns against card payments? What is so great about cash?

The convenience of card payments heavily outweighs the (i assume privacy) concerns. So what if anyone knows I stuffed myself with an unhealthy amount of chips? I keep my cash for things that don't accept other ways of payment, like bus fare and my drug dealer.

I see your point, though. It isn't solely applicable to this issue; any discussion is mudded by disagreeing just for the sake of rejecting anything anyone with an opposing view on a distinct and unrelated subject.

  • I've never not had this issue while writing a comment since I first downloaded it, back to v0.0.35 around 2 months ago. Hopefully it'll be addressed soon.

It's quite frustrating, but I ended up being used to work around it (mainly tapping multiple times to the end of the comment). Feels like whacking an old TV to make it work.

  • Not subscription, but the first service I thought "wtf is this money-making model?" was Plants vs Zombies 2. The game wasn't that good. And, oh, my most recent guilty pleasure is Monopoly Go; it's entertainingly boring?

Apart from that, I've tried to keep subscriptions that I really like or use constantly:

    • UberPass Uber One (mainly for when depression hits)
    • Deezer (just because I get 20% discount)
    • Kagi (first month atm, but it has a minimum % of trash results)
  • To me, Jerboa is superior. At the end of the day, it is designed by Lemmy developers and the UX/UI is simple enough.

It's the only app I've seen that show the number of upvotes AND downvotes, not just the sum.

  • As a nonnative speaker, the first time I heard the expression was on Bojack Horseman and it confused the hell out of me.

  • Having not lived in those times, how was the capitalism different (and seemingly better) through 1950-1970?

  • Presearch is an ok tool. Haven't heard much of it out there, so it'd be interesting to hear others' takes.

  • It doesn't really filters post for me. I tried with "Threads" and "Reddit" and they kept showing up.

On what feed(s) does it have effect?

  • Why? Interested on hearing you out. It was interesting the first time I watched it.

  • Exactly! Now I'm sad/disappointed the threads will be drowned with commands.

Yes, it's neat to have these tools but it doesn't actually provide anything to the discussion at hand.

  • Not constructive in the least, but I get your frustration of it crashing constantly. You could try designing a better app for a change.

If not, submit an issue on GitHub; though I'm sure it's being worked on. What version have you downloaded?

  • Yeah, reeks of misogyny
