  • I used it as my main DE a few years ago, its great! Really cool UI, completely different to all other DE's but it makes sense, and it has some cool stylings like for example virtual desktops icons being the actual desktops, just really tiny. The bugs, however, kept piling up, and it (segmentation fault)ed too often, so I had to abandon it. Last I heard, the reason it doesn't get major dev work anymore is that its really hard to work with.

  • I wonder what that means for google operating in russia. Since the demanded sum is so large, do they get their assets seized, like for example authorities sacking google phones? Or does this have absolutely no consequences?

  • for the record, that is $10,779,224,060,605,347,000,000,000,000,000,000 (american) dollars

  • Another Unsafe Product, Brought To You By Boeing!

  • Tuxkart is really great! One of the really good FOSS games, it has multiplayer and it even supports the wiimote :)

  • Tor if you dont want your fediverse server + ISP to know who you are on the fediverse. Other than that, fediverse people are not likely to use google trackers, so you should be safe without having to make new accounts constantly. Noscript for all other websites, gets rid of trackers very effectively, but a bit annoying because you have to whitelist the javascript you need.

  • This is an extremely important tool for moderating large forums, thank you for working on this! This is one of those mod tools that some people may need to enable large scale moderated federated forums!

  • the paper is no longer online, I cant access it.

  • Heh. Lunatic. Good alternative name!

  • I suppose. But I think, minetest as a project was strengthend by its proximity to minecraft. The big reason you pick up luanti is that its like minecraft, but free and with more modding freedom. I dont think this is bad thing to be reflected in a name. But good luck to them, maybe they can pull the name change off without hurting their public recognition too much.

  • Im always sceptical of name changes, because you trade a somewhat widespread known project name in for ....nothing.

  • Theres also zulip, but I havent tried it yet, but its supposedly open source discord, but you have to host the server yourself I think.

  • Yes, go on, let NVIDIA buy intel. Let them buy AMD too. What could go wrong. I love monopolies! /s

  • Maybe a bit difficult, but a website where you write some lyrics and it autocompletes it when it finds the song

So you can find songs with crazy lyrics in them

  • Has Mirror technology changed

Oh thats an easy answer! That just means THEY ARE COMING THE FOG IS COMING THE FOG IS COMING THE FOG IS COMING THE FOG IS COMING THE FOG IS COMING THE FOG IS COMING THE FOG IS

  • ...Recent laws in Japan have criminalized console and game modding, as well as save file editing....

    WHAT? why?.....what???

  • Yeah, it definitly tells me something, namely that I should not use the tool.

Why would news publish articles about the code quality of the tool, instead of its functionality?

Now they have negative press about its closed source nature, which is a calculated risk they took, just to open source it soon anyway? I doubt it.

  • but... you dont have to accept contributions? you can just make it open source and tidy it up at the same time?
