Im still not buying that 99% of news on Lemmy is about US fascism and news in almost every country report about it and Australians see a meme about fascism and assume its about them, not even doubting that it could be about an other constitution. That would say way more about Australians than Americans. \
If there was a meme saying "Russian troops during the invasion:" or some shit, would Australians comment "I didnt know we are being invaded by Russia"?
Thats not in the least what Im saying. I actually had no idea about the wording of the US constitution before this post. But how many other fascist governments actively attacking LGBTQ rights in the last few weeks do you know? I honestly dont think anyone would have thought this was not about the US. Maybe if you havent watched the news once for the last month.
Youre technically right, it could have been clearer by explicitly stating it. Still, Im positive that 99.9% understood immediately, including them. Its like saying something about Trump and someone comments "how was I supposed to know youre talking about Donald Trump and not Carl Philipp Trump"
I enjoyed the first 2 games but after seeing a video of those 'supposedly woke' ragebait scenes I knew I wont ever want this in my library. I dont know what the purpose behind that stuff is but its disturbing...
By this logic, if I post 10000 videos claiming 2+2=5, it becomes true by 'statistics'? \
To answer your question though, statistics are not predetermined independently from the truth. Truth is the basis and the number of claims for any statement does not change that. By assuming that 1% of all sightings are real, you already assumed that aliens must exist. The probability for aliens being real under the assumption that aliens are real is 100%, but you just made the premise up. This is not how statistics work. \
There are many examples from the past, like witches, werewolves, vampires, giants, ... People used to claim their existence but not anymore. By your reasoning they must have existed back then but suddenly they dont anymore? \
Also how come ghosts and aliens exist almost exclusively in the US? There are almost no reports in any other country. \
Just for fun, Ill try to come up with an example using your 'statistics', I wonder if you can argue against it without invalidating the reasoning in your post. \
There are 8bn people on earth. They are all reporting that they themselves are human. Even if 99.999% of those reports are true, that leaves 80,000 non-humans amongst them.
TL:DR lies dont become true just because they are being told often.
What the actual fuck. I am kind of unsure if this is a ragebait but I will take it nonetheless. \
You can judge people for thousands of ways in which they are egotistic or not charitable. Not adopting would come just about last.
I hope the person you talked to donates every cent above the bare minimum they need to survive, does not drive a car, has adopted at least 10 children and works for a charity. \
Otherwise they have absolutely no right to judge people for not going through the absolutely awful adoption process and sacrificing a major part of their life for kids that potentially require much more attention and patience than most. \
Most people arent even emotionally ready to raise their own children and would absolutely fail with adopted children. \
Not to mention blood relation is a very special bond and you cant judge anyone for seeking that.
Its better than back then, yes. But you cant know what kind of tricks they would use nowadays before it happens. Look at the US, Trump is doing whatever he wants no matter if its illegal. As long as hes not stopped by force, he will continue doing so.
Definitely not true. It sounds like you are German and if so it is pretty sad how little you keep up with your own election even though it happened just a few days ago. There are more AfD voters in eastern Germany but most Bundesländer have >18% AfD votes. \
People tend to forget that Hitlers NSDAP only needed 18% in 1930 and a rigged election in 1933 to completely take over the country. \
Coping doesnt get us anywhere. Its not always "the others" that vote far-right. Its the whole country, the educated just as well as the uneducated, the poor and the rich. Almost everyone has family members or friends that vote far-right and we need to talk to them, try to understand their motives and make them understand that AfD wants to make everything they fear 10 times worse.
It doesnt seem they care about people knowing what the license stuff is about or spreading awareness about it. Its edgy thats what matters
