I've got that sleep-in brainfog because I had an early one last night dealing with an obstinate child then woke up a little later than usual this morning. I'm still feeling it
Yeah, Iran, the protests, the military parade. It sucks to know we're on the side of the bad guys. It feels like one of those Lenin decade weeks so let's hope for a similar revolution
It reminds me of this meme I saw when COVID started of a Venn diagram of 'still having to go to work' and 'the end of the world'. It feels like we're in that overlap again
I was thinking something like this. For reference, I spent a lot more on a Steelcase Leap when I had business money to play with so this is a lot cheaper by comparison:
With such a majority so early on from am election, this would be the perfect time to do something politically unpopular like fix our welfare system. Too bad nothing ever happens
I have this spicy savoury mix thing people at home picked up. I can only describe it as highly unpleasant.
It is too spicy to just graze on, and it doesn't have a satisfying crunch. That could be because we've had it for a while, but I never remember it having a crunch.
I'll take it to work and if I can't enjoy it then I'll pour it into the organics bin
I had to work on some spreadsheet stuff this morning. My dock stopped working so a lot of it was done head down on one laptop screen. So now I feel a bit uugh and need longer screen free time than my walk at lunch
I think my multi-workspace approach at work isn't working. I tried breaking things up by project but every time I get a teams message it pings me back to the first workspace.
Maybe I try by function, like having website stuff in one space, social ads in another, and something else in another space.
We got back today. The trip was alright overall but everyone was a bit sick in different ways. The room was tiny, so I'll have to be not so cheap next time I decide to go somewhere.
It would have been alright but my girlfriend felt like she was going to throw up most of yesterday so we didn't have dinner out, which means the boys spent all evening wrestling each other in a tiny hotel room.
Otherwise, we did the dinosaur park, the mornington tourist steam train, and got a great tour of the flight training airport next to the hotel. It was a good trip but a little exhausting at times dealing with the kids.
There are things to do down that way if we went there again, but I don't think I'm going to rush down for another trip straight away
