  • I started to put it all in my selfhosted bookstack and that works well for me. I also automated a good part of my setup with Ansible, so I can just check how the Playbook did things if I forgot.

  • Mostly finished the small bathroom. Replaced floor tiling because the old ones became loose, painted the wall tiles because they were ugly, painted the rest of the walls (fake wood) to match the rest. Removing silicone was by far the most bothersome task.

Need to redo some of the silicone and add wood strips where the tiles meet the fake wood plus some little tasks here and there but it's usable again.

  • Since most rackmounts are 3d printed, everyone with a little knowledge could just add 2" to the files. The rails are width-agnostic. The power strips could be hard to find in 12", but I'm sure printing 2" extenders is possible as well!

  • Got it in parts from different sources. I've generally been looking for used parts. The rails and screws are from Retourenking, the shelf and the blinds from Kleinanzeigen and the power strips from 25now.

If you're looking for a single source to buy new, check the Assmann Digitus stuff. I think they're available at Amazon.

  • Thanks! Got it all printed from a friend, fortunately there's plenty STLs out there.

Some people are selling printed mounts for common devices on Etsy but the ones I found were horrendously expensive.

  • I'm using BlitzWolf ones and they're pretty reliable so far. Been using them for almost a year, so no long term results yet. Measure Power and turn on/off.

I've had bad experience (malfunctions after a year or two) with old Ikea Tradfri ones and some Sonoff plug.

  • I've heard good things about the Amelanchier × lamarckii too in context of food forests! Space is rare though so I'm not sure yet what else to get. I'm not actively converting the lawn other than not mowing it except for 1-3 times a year, it's more that I started with the trees and am continuously expanding from there, plus some shrubs here and there and the hedge. There's some clover already but actively converting feels like a lot of work which I'm trying to avoid.

  • Obligated? It depends on the users a bit (since you say migrating, I guess I already know them?).

But generally a reminder won't hurt. Not everyone gets educated on digital spaces and also we tend to forget which consequences our posts might have.

You mentioned young people as an example who should be able to fuck up without it being held against them too long and I agree. I think public social media might not be the best place for that in general, and certainly not with names that can easily be mapped to their offline id.
