  • Haha yeah, those who don't agree with me must surely be stupid.
    That will show them.

I know for some reason it is never popular to argue against the pro nuclear propaganda that keeps getting posted both here and on the old site, but I just hate how it tries to make anyone seem stupid that is afraid of the myriad of problems with this technology that are still unsolved to this day.

Especially considering how nuclear energy gets dominated so hard by renewables.

  • I am not informed about what he did exactly to help children and if he actually did help them I commend him for it in the highest form.

But as a European I have mainly seen him lobby for dystopian online control systems.

It is hard for me to judge if he is a cynic that uses children for his lobbying (as is usual by people that want to destroy freedoms online and offline) or an idealist that went the very wrong way at some point, but at least his political efforts in Europe are not a good thing at all.

And that he is speaking up for a violent rapist does not make me want to give him the benefit of the doubt.

  • Depends on how many artists work I choose to avoid.

    Right now there is one.
Her books meant a lot to me through my youth but I don't really miss any of the newer stuff that I don't consume.
And there are enough other books to read.

And before I get called hypocritical for not avoiding other, arguably worse, artists, it's not like I actively seek out stuff to boycott.
Rowling just actively inserted herself into a public conversation and now that I lost all respect for her I can't really enjoy her art anymore.

That's too bad for me, but the movies turned to shit anyway, so I guess I just stick to art, that brings me more joy.

  • I have cooked with cast iron for years and have never cracked one.
I have destroyed a bit of seasoning, but surely not with mild dishsoap.

Normal modern dishsoap does not have any strong lye in it (and hasn't for decades) and will not destroy a proper seasoning.
And obviously I don't wash my pan while it's ripping hot.

Usually I do my dishes after eating, sometimes the pan is completely cooled down, sometimes it is a bit lukewarm, I never had problems with either. If I can handle the pan with bare hands it is cool enough to wash with warm water.

    Don't spread outdated information.
The only thing this does is intimidate people from using cast iron at all and that's just a shame.

  • I usually love to recommend non enameled cast iron pans.
Those are the pans I use most and I am pretty lazy myself.
Most times I just clean them with soapy water and a sponge, dry them well, rub a really really small splash of oil around in it and heat it back up until I see the first signs of smoke.

If even that is too much work (and you have a gas stove or similar) I would recommend a simple wok from any Asian store.
I have a glass stove top right now so I rarely use mine anymore, but if I had a gas stove I think that I would use it all the time.

  • That is a de facto state of war between NATO and Russia.

Repeating this doesn't make it any more true.
Which Russian politician would throw away his new reign for an attack on NATO which might mean WW3, but which definitely will mean the total and utter destruction of Russia as a nation.

  • It is a false narrative that doing anything against russian aggression automatically means WW3.

And this false narrative is deliberately spread by pro russian channels so that Russia gets challenged as little as possible.

Putin is a war criminal and should be arrested, if Russia then chooses to go to war (which I doubt) they will see how it serves them.
