  • You’re the reason people like geert are winning.

No I am not and right wing nuts blaming the left for even more extreme right wing nuts is just an obvious lie.

The empirically proven truth is though, that people like Wilders, LePen, Farage, Trump, Höcke etc. are successful because their inflammatory racist rhetoric gets echoed by stupid "centrists" that care more about fighting the left than the right.

    People like you.

But I understand that it feels much better for you to blame lefty people that you don't like anyway.

  • That's such a stupid take, I am not even sure where to start responding.

Of the many, many, many things one might reply I will just pick the simple facts that a sugary drink alone doesn't kill anyone and cars have a real and tangible use to our society, while selling murder-tools at Walmart does not.

And btw I am very much in favor of measures to reduce the damages caused by the sugar industry and putting strict restrictions on dangerous traffic.

  • Bullshit Apples and bullshit Oranges.

Mild pressure is put on the catholic church as an organization (!) to stop actively aiding the still ongoing mass rape of children over multiple continents through their clergy.

That is not even close to the same as expecting all people of Muslim believe to denounce things that completely independent people do that just so happen to also be Muslim.

And don't get me wrong, Islam might be even more stupid and archaic than Christianity, but your argument just doesn't hold water at all.
I would go so far as to say that it is likely that this very argument was conceived as a racist fig leaf to have some reasonable sounding argument to not like brown people.
Not that this is necessarily your motivation, but you just publicly repeated it.

  • In short, while America needs to do SOMETHING the "Just ban guns" crowd are infuriating in their naivety.

As someone that is firmly against the free access to guns I cannot agree that it is naivety.

You guys got a serious problem with gun violence, your children are dying in, quite frankly, absurd numbers.
And you keep on letting it happen for decades now.

I am not someone that says just banning the ownership of guns outright from one second to another is the best solution there is. Off course it's not.

But dude, even that strawman solution that pretty much noone actually proposes would be better than your status quo.

  • In your original post you called it a

    suspicious defence.

To me (and seemingly to others) it is weird that you interpret anything at all in this blanket response by some spokesperson.

I know nothing about this Iovine guy.
If he did it he should be punished, if he didn't he should be exonerated.
But this spokespersons PR statement doesn't make him any more or less suspicious to me and I find it kind of weird that it would for anyone.

Btw I am not one of the people that downvoted you, I'm just trying to clear up possible confusion.

  • Disco Elysium is a good one but I know I don't have the time right now.

Maybe I get me another Metroidvania.
I have Blasphemous (which I think was already on sale), Bloodstained RotN or Sundered EE on my wishlist, but again I would probably just make the pile of shame grow.

  • Wow you really showed me there. That was fun.

Maybe some day someone less uneducated than me will check your slightly suspicious numbers, but it won't be me.

I sit down happily knowing the chance of me getting shot to death are pretty slim, you keep standing tall big guy.

  • Easy.

If you got a gun without permit you go to jail.
There is a timeframe in which to give away your gun, maybe you even get compensated if you do.
    Enforcement is key obviously.

    Poof 99% of guns gone.
Worked just fine in Australia which I think had more guns per person than the US but I might be mistaken and can't be arsed to look up a source for you to ignore.

  • Everyone gets it but you.

The fascists are armed to their teeth because dumb fucks following dumb rules allowed it.
That's the reason they are NOT armed to their teeth where I live and if they try to get armed they run a real risk of going to jail. I read about it every other week, because they keep trying and fortunately most keep failing.

And that's why I as a not so young, but tattooed and obviously liberal looking dude can walk around without a care in the world and I train how to choke a mf out just for my personal enjoyment and not for any real world need to.

  • Was it ever different with Konami?

I watched some video on the Castlevania franchise a while ago and the amount of corporate fuckery even early on made it sound like a miracle there were some pretty good games among them, even before SotN.

  • Oxygen is not a right, but a luxury, it is not the responsibility of MuskMarsCorp to provide adults with oxygen.
    Show a little self responsibility.

    Edit: I didn't think I needed an /s, but I guess I was wrong.
My statement was loosely based on something some Nestlé fuckface said about water.

  • I didn't watch the video but the newer Pokémon games are actually bad by different measures.

The graphics of the newest one (whatever it is called) is at least a whole generation behind other Switch titles and still it suffers from FPS drops and textures that just pop up while already in view.
    That is just objectively bad.

That they never really innovated very much on the turn based RPG formula or that the newer games are very easy are things that I don't even mind, especially because the games are supposed to be accessible for children.
That could make for a nice relaxing game after a long day of work.

But I am not willing to pay 70 something bucks for a game that is so obviously made without the necessary care for the product.

  • I don't know if I would call it really good, but if I were to ever write a novel the setting would be dark fantasy like somewhere between the middle ages and the modern times where most men of the protagonists society are about to come back from a long war, but they also bring back a mysterious illness.

The protagonists were just too young to have gone to said war, but maybe an older brother did go, maybe he fell idk.
At some point the father comes home, but what was supposed to be a happy occasion turns darker because he is changed by war.

There has to be some form of secret society that has something to do with the illness or the lack of a cure for the common people.
And the young protagonists will have to deal with that situation due to circumstances and not because they were chosen or secret princes or something like that.

And I am a sucker for happy endings so while the novel would be rather dark as a whole, the ending would see a dramatic change to society with at least the potential to get better.
I think times of change make for good fiction.

I will never write that novel though, but just maybe I might get to use the setting for a TTRPG campaign some day.

  • So I have no idea about guns but would you say there is no legislative way to end the fact that the USA is the only first world country with a mass shooting like every other day?

Again I am not arguing for or against any one particular measure or ban.
I don't know anything about high cap mags or whatever.
But I do know that other countries seem to show a correlation between stricter gun laws and less fatalities by gun.

Or is it your 2nd amendment that stands in the way of effective legislative measures?

It just seems like a problem that should be so easy to solve and as a European it just seems strange that you guys seem to be completely unable to even make improvements.
