  • Excellent questions.

I do not download and upload at the same time.

The server is exclusively wired so I can’t try it on a hotspot but I can try connecting my laptop to a hotspot and check connections between them. I don’t have friends or family or a friendly network I can try anywhere nearby, unfortunately.

I can try creating a torrent sometime soon but I need to take a break. I’m starting to see the terminal when I close my eyes.

  • I did some tweaking that I found online somewhere for host/client settings and since then, no not really. I’ve made sure that the host is wired in and I’m working on getting the deck dock wired in too but my house is old and not easily cat5-able. It doesn’t look GREAT most of the time but it’s pretty passable. I know you didn’t ask about undocked but with the smaller screen it definitely clears some stuff up and looks a little nicer.

  • Quick preface, this isn’t meant to be disrespectful or confrontational, I’m genuinely curious, but what are you playing while docked? I bought the dock and have only a tiny bit of buyer’s remorse because I feel like anything put up on the big screen is so low quality that it’s not even worth it and just either stream it from my PC to Deck or play on the PC directly. I admit I may be doing something wrong, I don’t have the time to fiddle with it to optimize.

  • I went all out and sold my PS5, bought a guitar and have been teaching myself how to play. I feel awkward because I didn’t just move to Lenny but now I can play dope ass riffs.

  • FFXIV for sure is up there. Probably my most hours in a single game. The first several Monster Hunter games are so similar that I kinda want to count all their hours together. If I did that then the MH franchise MAY surpass XIV. Either one is a hell of an experience and I don’t regret any of it.

  • I think there’s a difference between being a shitty person and being unwilling to help and being repeatedly used because you’ve helped out a couple of times before and now people end up leveraging your kindness. I personally subscribe to the line of thinking in the comment you replied to after giving the person I’m working with the benefit of the doubt that it’s a justified emergency a couple of times. I have a list of people at work now that I’ll still assist but I don’t jump at the opportunity as quickly because everything is an emergency to them and I think that’s just as shitty as not helping someone.

Just to clarify, I phrase it a bit differently: Not “piss-poor planning” but rather “a lack of planning” since it sounds less aggressive.

  • As someone who’s gone through those same feelings on previous revivals, my recommendation is to remain cautiously pessimistic.

  • Fire in the Sky. It's about an alien abduction and the dude has PTSD and flashbacks throughout. Ruined maple syrup for me for a long time.

  • Agreed, 100%. I grew up in a hot area and worked in offices where long pants were the standard. I was always jealous that ladies could get all that ventilation and I was stuck with boiler pipes on my legs.
