If someone really wanted to find the person, I imagine they'd find where the signal is coming from for that device, and just narrow from there. If it always goes to/from where John works and lives, it might well be John's phone.

In Japan, a lot of things don't take calls from VoiP (+81-050-xxxx-xxxx) numbers. Certain businesses and such won't accept them as contact info, either, as I discovered trying to rent my first apartment by myself.

I ran into a number of bugs in that game and got frustrated (I can't recall what exactly, anymore). It's the only one where I didn't roll another character to play though again in a different playstyle. It's great they did it mostly remotely during covid, but that they couldn't be arsed to fix the bugs left a bad taste in my mouth.

The writing but also the direction; there was apparently a lot of work by the writers that got cut leading to some of the mess that's there today.

I found it funny as someone from the US. I think there were only a couple of things that relied so heavily on Australian slang.

In Japan, we have to be careful because a company could sue for reputational damage (even if the claims are 100% true and provable). Same for some other examples like posting a pic of someone with his mistress or basically anything with their face.

When I sometimes talk about things in my past that make me nostalgic, cold war shenanigans never makes that list.

The idea of being able to wear something like that didn't even cross my mind. When I was in high school (public school in rural Ohio), they'd just tell you to hand it (necklace) over until the end of the day or go home. I think high school is when they finally relaxed the hair restrictions for boys (not below the collar and only natural colors for all students) and I think that's because a student who moved from the city's parents were suing to keep their long-, dyed-hair son in school. I'm not saying I agree with things being that strict, by the way; I just didn't realize that was even allowed now.
