Yes, but even before you get to that point. Like I said they'll fight dirty at first, so having assistance to even be able to get to that point requires community efforts.
Maybe you should study some law to understand how the courts work. He can't even impeach federal judges. It takes 2/3 majority just like it does for President.
When the courts have shown multiple times that they no longer care about the constitution. Right now we have the Supreme Court ruling against the Trump admin's illegal deportations. Unfortunately it takes time for the process to play out. I am optimistic that the courts will for now maintain the checks & balances. The courts are the strongest protection against Trump's authoritarian attempts.
I didn't say not to draw a line. I just said I was opposed to sabbatoge for the time being. There are lots of other things you can do right now to work towards restoring diplomacy.
I'm sure locking people up for wrong think is really helping the Democratic politicians. What happened with Trump winning a second term & AfD can be fixed, but requires acknowledging & fixing the broken systems that elevated it. If one party is already acting like fascists, then don't act surprised when it causes other forms to rise.
I've been saying this for such a long time, the tech industry needs unions. It also needs crowd sourced legal assistance as well because it isn't going to be easy. They'll fire of course at first despite being illegal, then they'll want migrants that they can threaten with deportation if they don't comply. Even if Trump goes away, unions will be necessary to keep corporations accountable.
Although I don't support sabotage for the time being & strongly oppose it in almost every way. It isn't just risky, but I feel many times it ends up legitimizing the groups you're trying to protect others from. I feel it would make matters substantially worse before the potential of making things better, but at that point you may have just invited the next generation of fascism to use your actions to justify theirs.
I managed to work through all those issues using XDG portals & necessary software/configurations when using Hyprland & Arch, but I'd think that major distros & DEs also had solved them as part of their installs. Maybe I'm wrong. It is sad if they haven't, because they are solvable. If this was 2 years ago, I would understand the frustrations more, but if there are still issues then I am more frustrated at whoever is packaging the crap & sending it to end users without thinking to address these problems using the available solutions.
It has improved, but most developers working on Xorg have moved to Wayland. I'm not saying Xorg isn't still useful at times, like forwarding over SSH, but Wayland has more isolation & security considerations, which can be seen as both an advantage & limitation. However, Wayland compositors have implemented most controls & protocols now to fill in the gaps.
I understand where you're coming from, but Democrats need progressives to win. If they leave Democrats, it will be Democrats that will follow them, not the other way around. I don't think trying to emulate MAGA is such a great idea. I know there are lessons that can be learned there, but I am still confident that a new party with popular progressives & populist policies would do more than trying to change a broken party from within.
This is pretty much the most accurate response here. People like Andrew Tate are a symptom of a problem we have in society as a whole. The cure isn't to block the symptom, because the disease is still there. The solution involves hard work & holding our own politicians accountable.
The same Democrats that barely won the previous election by telling people not to focus on them but Trump. Imagine funding the murder of kids, ignoring the housing crisis & then thinking you could just pull out the previous playbook with a dementia patient, then anointing Kamala Cheney at the last minute.
Truth there. I'm from a dark blue area yet city government here couldn't act any different than if I lived in a dark red state. In some ways I actually think they are worse. All they have to do is put D next to their name & the voters will support them regardless of their actions.
Honestly this looks disappointing but prob the perfect game for the bread & circuses crowd.
