  • Everything I've read is they can veto legislation, act on international affairs, etc. Absolutely not largely symbolic unless a Polish person would like to correct me.

Especially a big deal considering the current coalition is very weak and can barely agree on legislation anyhow.

  • It's irrelevant. You're telling people what they can and cannot do based on when they were born.

It'd be one thing if no one could smoke. But youre not saying that. You're strictly saying because you were born after x date that you can never smoke.

That's entirely messed up and my point being it's terribly against personal freedom.

And you basically proved my point- people will make allowances for other vices but not this.

  • Well apparently their "approach" is to run sandboxed Google play. Now whether that is better than microg with its more anonymous nature but higher permission level, idk.

But that locks you into Google play and using an account of some sort rather than just using Aurora. From what I remember anyhow, especially when trying to use seedvault since graphene has no backup solution of its own even years after saying seedvault isn't great.

  • Even ignoring that I tried graphene but even as a tech person it was off putting. Calyx in contrast has a nice blend of usability and security imo.

I wanted to like graphene and it's far superior in security but just so much less usable IMO. I'd rather move to a Linux phone at that point.

  • Yeah, they act all hurt that that's said. Like it's your fucking fault you idiot! Everyone was telling you it before and you ignored it.

This is like a kid being told not to stick their fingers in the socket, they do, then get upset that you remind them that you told them not to. Grow the fuck up mate.

  • Im only blaming people who either 1) don't exist because they aren't progressive or 2) don't vote.

It's pretty simple. And if youre of the opinion that progressives can't swing the election for the Democrats then youre of the opinion that theyre so insignificant that they couldn't ever tilt the Democratic party anyway.

  • Are you with Democrats or not? You act like it's some shadowy cabal. People just go vote in a primary. Progressives don't win. And my main point is- Republicans voted in the primary for their far most right candidate but still voted Republican in the general. They trained the party to move to the right, like a dog.

Progressives either 1) aren't numerous enough to do anything like that or 2) get upset and either never vote in the primary or sit out both the primary and general when their preferred person doesn't make it.

Again, either way theyre irrelevant. This is the uncomfortable truth the op is talking about. Like Bernie and Aoc are popular yes? Holding rallies that get a lot of support? Then where are the rest of progressives?

  • Maybe it wasn't that then. I don't say I support it but I'm guessing they were thinking (old school) that if they voted for someone who of course they don't like but is actually a somewhat serious candidate that the Republicans would respond by nominating more like that.

But again, that kind of thinking is still going on in the Dem party and obviously outdated. One would think they'd learn that there is no give and take with this batch of Republicans. At all.

  • The difference is that basically anyone nominated after Rubio would be worse. He's basically the best person put forward by this admin, as sorry as that is.

Sounds more like damage control than much else. That they have to do because, you know, America thought they didn't have to bother voting dem because it's whatever. Hence gestures around

  • And yet progressives say their policies are so supported and yet they can barely get Anyone elected.

Begs to wonder how that makes sense too or else they would've tea partied the dems by now.

I wish it were true but either progressives are too few or too lazy. Either way, same result.

  • Kinda horseshit. Everyone knew trump. Only people responsible for trump 2.0 are those that voted for him or didn't care enough to vote.

That has Jack shit to do with Biden. A Ham sandwich is a better alternative and we should stop giving cover to shitty people acting like it was at all any contest.
