  • ik. but in the end i had way too many problems with linux on (probably) the worst machine ever made for it so i had to switch back to win*ows

    i'm talking like, nothing i did helped raise my battery life past 2h on any linux distro without shutting down the GPU and half of my CPU cores. switching to windows brought it to 7h without compromise...

  • it depends on the CPU architecture. if you have a 32 bit CPU then it will only be able to save up to a 32 bit int. unix epoch time is just how many seconds passed since 1.1.1970 and cant be "updated"

  • fun fact! 32 bit systems were only fixed until 2038 because then, the signed 32 bit integer storage for the unix epoch time will overflow causing it to flip to the lowest negative number

    and a lot of public stuff still uses 32 bit systems

  • i mean guinea pigs were originally bred as a replacement food source for ocean voyages as it tasted the same as a pig but was way smaller

    thus the name (morski prašiček - sea piglet in slovene)
