You can try to ask stupid questions, but according to the title of this community you will never succeed

You'd see a lot of them when those Hong Kong protests were going on

It was usually treated as synonymous with NFTs/cryptocurrency/the metaverse and only soulless investor types liked those things so they all went bust

Because authoritarians took over the Soviet Union and proceeded to try to run every other revolution.

Think that anyone who would find that stuff compelling is not in a good place emotionally or mentally. Now, ideally they should be pulled out of that, and you do occasionally hear stories about people leaving extremist groups like Qanon because they found a healthy hobby or community. On the other hand, I don't think humans can really be separated cleanly between victim and victimizer, and the people this questions describing often become a danger to other people.

Probably more right-wing than you're looking for, but The Concept of the Political by Carl Schmitt. Insightful on how these people think, and much more readable than works by some Nazi philosophers I could mention. Also if you're interested in a good deconstruction of far right views, I highly recommend Neoreaction a Basilisk by Elizabeth Sandifer

It's nice if they take to it, but kids are fickle. I wouldn't be upset at all unless it was a toy that held sentimental value for me personally, and even then that's more of a me problem

There's a cemetery a few blocks from where I live that I walk around in sometimes. The years on the older gravestones tell some very sad stories.
