Owning is very clearly “keeping” which would make utilizing in the defense of yourself and others “bearing.” There’s two parts to the right and own is only one of them.

The issue with this is because it doesn’t work for the actual purpose of speed limits in the US. If the goal was to set the limit at the maximum speed that is safe for that road and then not exceed it then zero tolerance would work. In the real world though speed limits aren’t about safety at all, they are purely revenue generation for police departments. They are 100% set with the intent of having people break them so that the local government can make money. People obeying a speed limit 100% of the time would literally break every single local government in the US, the current system literally can’t exist if people don’t speed.

Trump did more directly but behind the scenes Biden has been a nightmare. The ATF should be disbanded and the majority charged for deprivation of rights under the color of law at this point.

There isn’t much on top of the wing that is highly critical. Some planes you can’t even see the top from anywhere in the plane too. An actual issue like leaking fluids or damaged flight control surfaces are visible from the bottom. Something like a few missing fasteners really isn’t t that alarming. I’ve flown plenty of times with some missing, sometimes speed taped and sometimes both the first few times I asked the crew chief but eventually I became familiar with where and how many missing weren’t an issue.

The NRA hasn’t been relevant to mainstream gun owners in years. And I’m not sure what ranges you’ve been to, I’ve found more diversity at small family owned ranges in central Oklahoma than I did in Starbucks in Seattle. When I lived in WA before OK I was almost always in the minority at the range as a straight white male. Gun ownership is far more diverse than just MAGA assholes and the NRA used to have power because millions of voting gun owners agreed with their message at the time. That hasn’t been the case in a decade and they have never spent enough to be politically relevant from traditional lobbying alone.

Trump isn’t exactly pro 2A so there’s not as much unified love for him in the gun community as you would think. The mag is more because Baldwin is a rabid gun grabber that ignored basic gun safety and killed someone.

I was a bit late on this booster because they were late getting it on base and then shifted all supplies overseas which made me go to local pharmacies which is a pain for active duty but I finally managed. I feel like I was higher risk at the beginning than now though, either way what I've been doing seems to have worked. Meanwhile my biochemist wife who works in pharma development is only a bit butthurt that she caught it before me despite absolutely being the subject matter expert and only going interacting with peers at work during the height of it.

I bought it to store my reloading fuckups so we'll see.

That sucks. I genuinely can’t fathom how I haven’t caught it yet. I got the vax right when it came out at the hospital/first responder time but with how much I travelled at the peak it’s amazing I’ve still avoided it. Every booster has kicked my ass so I really don’t think I had a silent case.

If you use it to control the TV the only thing it can do is turn it off permanently.

He’s being charged for pointing a gun at someone and pulling the trigger. Him being an executive is an argument against the “I was told it was unloaded” defense. NM law is clear on criminal negligence with a firearm and there is no movie production exemption. Being handed a gun by someone else who says it is safe does not negate liability under the law. His failures as a producer with prior safety lapses and incidents leading up to the tragedy are important as well, but at the end of the day he pulled the trigger and that’s what he is being charged for.

If it’s somewhere I need the trust for climb gradient it’s unlikely to land on anything important. A small chance of one tragedy is far better than a large chance of another.

It depends on what causes the fire. There is a shutoff valve at the top of the pylon that should cut fuel and hydraulic lines to prevent anything combustible going into it. If the fire is caused by a fuel issue outside of that, such as a leak above the valve, the halon will not be able to extinguish it. The halon also discharges into the cowling so if the cowling is compromised it can’t extinguish it, or if the fire is inside the core or in the tailpipe it won’t make a difference. Finally, it’s designed so that in the worst case that pylon will simply burn clean off the wing leaving the rest of the plane and 3 other engines to continue flying. If I had a fire like that in a mountainous region I wouldn’t even touch the fire handle until after I get to a safe altitude. So long as the engine is producing thrust the fire spitting out behind it doesn’t really concern me that much for a short while.

There aren’t laws against studying gun violence, the law is specifically against using public funds to promote gun control while pretending to be an a academic study, which is exactly what they were doing when the Dickey Amendment was passed. Before it was the abuses of “scientific” processed were absurd, with stuff like studies to see if guns increased suicide rates openly stating in their methodology “once we got our data set we deleted any that occurred outside the home because gun suicides are almost always at home.” This isn’t even P hacking, it’s just straight up deleting data so that only the answer you want is left. Even modern suicide studies still use gun suicides as their main proxy for gun ownership before “analyzing” the data to see if there is a correlation; surprisingly enough when you use your dependent variable as your independent variable you often get the answer you were looking for.

There is plenty of valid data available, the issue is that whenever the scientific method is followed the researcher gets blacklisted, labeled as “disproven” and shunned from the academic community. If you go into it with the goal that only showing guns are bad is allowed and twist the data then you’re allowed to publish. If you do actual science and run real world data it always comes back in favor of gun ownership. So instead the gun grabbers stick to their lies and pretend the Dickey amendment is anything but a direct response to getting caught lying red handed.

There’s plenty that can be done to reduce violent crime and suicides in the US, but taking away guns from law abiding citizens ain’t it.
